Question: I was informed by other engine builders that the heads are not torqued with a set value but tightened a certain number of turns. Which is it? Oh wait, he's using ARP studs, they are probably reusable.

2nd question: I didn't see where the crankshaft or rod bearings were ever installed.

3rd question: Did I miss where the cams were timed?

This may be an abbreviated build up video for producers purposes.

You torque to a set ftlbs and or use a torque-to-angle gauge to tighten the bolts an additional number of degrees for TTY bolts.

I'm sure the bearings were already set in place. When I just built my engine, you press the bearings in place and they stay put. I'm sure they'd fall right out if you smacked the rod, etc.

They either put the cams in "Dot to Dor" or didn't show that time consuming process.

Stock fuel system???? I wanna see it go around the track and see if the stock fuel system will keep up.....on a dyno for 3 sec.... ya.... on a track with load and top gear pull its gonna go BOOM!!!!!!!!

Impressive but would upgrade the fuel system at his level before the big KB....

I'm confused...

Why would you waste all that time and money to "build" a GT500 engine that is already "built" OEM?...:dunno:

The new GT500 engine has some very serious factory hardware in it:

Guys are bolting on a Whipple, LT headers and a good tune and getting close to 1000 HP.....on a bone stock engine.
I wouldn't touch a stock GT500 engine unless it was going to get twin turbos and run 1,500+ HP.
