Shallow mount subwoofer - Shelf install

Anyone running a shallow mount sub setup in the same place the OEM subwoofer is?
If so what is your setup? What sub? What box? What amp?

I was thinking of matching a shallow mount 12" or 10" sub with a low RMS to the OEM amp for the mean time and building something proper later with a proper aftermarket amp.

Thoughts? Pics? anyone?

amp is cocky doody, start there, there are a couple of shallow subs that will fit in the OEM box, that and an aftermarket amp will get you some decent sound without losing any space.

Do a search, there has been a lot of discussion of this on the board.

Thanks for the input. I saw some threads with your info on putting in a shallow mount 8" sub... Stock amp was running a 12" sub for a while with sufficient sound output for me, just want to clean the trunk up more is all.
