Well, that's about as much press as Mercury gave it. Shame on them. :shake:

Whats wrong with it being discontinued???

Just 4 reasons I am not worried about it.

1. We share alot of parts with other models so we wont run out of parts easy.
2. Value of our cars will not go in the toilet
3. What we have will be even that much more exclusive

and

4. I already bought mine :)

I am sure there are many more

I think we all knew that, although we were hoping the Marauder be continued into the 2005 model year. :(

Ford and Mercury do not have a clue! How can they justify creating the Marauder with all of the special things on it - Stamped seats, wheels, mats, gauges, rear facia, and engineer in the big 4.6 - 32 valve engine into it then create a bunch of nice brochures and the great website for the Marauder and then after the 2nd model year dump it. (I am sure I missed several other nice features) Ford/Mercury deserve to go down the tubes. Maybe Nissan will buy Ford. Ready for the flames

As long as the Marauder name doesn't get slapped on a fwd car like they did with Cougar I'm okay with it. The old '88 Cougar I used to drive is probably still rolling in its grave over that one.

I am with you. The old Cougars were awesome. I am sure that your old car is flip-floppin' in the grave.

Ditto. My '68 XR7 was the best car I ever owned!

OK! You were not pay attention when Mercury launched this car at the aout show in '98. Thye talked about getting to market in a "few" years. They were a033lot of changes to the paltform and it took till '03 to get to market. (I know launched in June of '02 as an '03)

This car was a planed two year run from day one!

Ford is making major changes to the SVT team and as a result their we be no SVT cars/truck in '05. In '06 they plan to include L&M in the SVT line up.

So no flame from me you can think what you want about Ford, Lincoln-Mercury. It is not my mission in life to change your mind:)

Now quick get a Marauder or got by a Nissan:)

Any way the engine is shared with the Mach 1 (SVT)

Regardless of what is stated by Autoweek, I still WANT one. From either the earliest of black 300A's to a moonroof equipped '04 in Dark Toreador Red or Silver Birch. As long as they come with Dark Charcoal interior.

There's a late 60s or 1970 Cougar that just popped up around the corner from my house... I'll have to try and snap a pic or two. Odd bronze-like color.

Would have been nice to be able to buy a new one a few years down the line when this one was worn out... or maybe even buy a second one... that's my main beef with this cancellation announcement. :(

Marauder's demise is too similar to the Impala SS. :burnout: Good car made much better  , then dropped from production in very short time (too short!) . I'm disappointed :( since I was hoping to purchase a new one in 2005. Oh well, maybe I'll buy something else instead, such as the Dodge Magnum....

Mac Heik L/M & Ford dealer in my area has not had a single 2004 MM in stock. If the dealer refuse to stock the limited product offering of mercury the dealership should be pulled, that simple. This dealer has over 300 F series truck most with a price over the MMsticker. Afew months ago I was at this dealer :FORD & L/m shop : and the green salesman didn't even know what aMM was lat alone try to attempt to convince someone to actually BUY one. This car like the Blackwood was a flop for everyone involved. The only reason there was limited production was due to there crapy job. The Blackwood had a6 month life cycle. At least FoMoCo tries????? :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Actually I did buy a Caddy about 3 weeks ago, but not the one you or I
thought I was going to buy.

In November I bought a '95 Lexus LS400. Realized that there wasn't enough headroom for me. Sold it about a month ago and lost $1K.

Got the $1500 conquest certificate on the Lexus from Cadillac. Traded in the Impala LS and got a ..................... Cadillac SRX V6. In black of course.

I looked at Marauders about a month ago just to refresh my memory.
The silver cars really appeal to me, but the rear legroom should be a little more for the size of car. So I decide to pass again on the Marauder.

The SRX is fairly quick off the line but I am a little disappointed in how at higher rpms the power is flat. it has a 3.73 rear gear and a 3.52 1st gear!!!
260 hp.
5 speed auto with Shiftronic is a lot of fun.
I am guessing 0-60 is about 7.5 secs.
paid $34,200 with no options.
great ride quality, very quiet, great visibility, and lots of utility.

Different vehicle than the Marauder, but fits my needs as a real estate agent.

The V8 SRX would be a good competitor to the Marauder perfromance wise.

The Mach 1 is NOT done by SVT.

There are plenty to go around.

I still wonder if they're going to come back with it. If I ever go for marketing and make it up to Mercury, I'll be sure to make Cruztakers license plate useless:rock:

And I still would love to see a pearl/vanilla white on a Marauder, like on the Ford S-ca-pay
