Taking the Marauder for a road trip like the subject says. Leaving RI early Saturday morning, hotel room about 12 hours after and finishing the trip Sunday evening. Looks like I'll be taking the I-95 to I-70 route.

I'll be watching for you all on my drive. Have never spotted another Marauder on any road trip in the 3 years I've had one.

Anyone I may pass on the way?

Making the return trip starting Thursday Morning.

I would consider 95 to 80 to 76 to 71 to 270 to 70... you will avoid lots of tolls and traffic.

I drive all over the country and I promise you will hate yourself taking I-95 to 70, you will go through NYC, Philly, Baltimore, and DC.

If you go my way NYC is the worst, then it's smooth sailing. You'll drive right past Summit Racing in Tallmadge, OH (open 9-9, 7 days a week).

you might even want to consider hooking up with I-84 in CT then either taking 81S or 380 at the end of 84 to get to 80 in PA, that way you could avoid NYC.

Work your way a little farther south and come see me and ncmm in Johnson County Kansas. :)

Nothing like a road trip in a Marauder. Have a safe trip and ENJOY, Pete!

Yea, what he said.

Pete, if you take I-70 or I-81 through Maryland, look us up we are between Frederick and Hagerstown.

Thanks for the route tips! Checking the map now. Where would I catch I76 off of I80?

Thanks again!

Pete

You could take 95 to 287 down to 78 to 81 to 76 (Pa turnpike) outside of Harrisburg, Pa. Then to 70 near Youngwood, Pa. and on to Topeka, Ks.

That's pretty much what I was looking at also. Not over-concerned about the tolls just want to avoid the traffic getting out of the north east. Doesn't add too much time to the trip either. Like a 1/2 hour matters too much on a 22 hour ride.

Thanks for the route info ALL!

Pete

Haggis, if we weren't pressed for time, we'd take you up on a visit. Maybe next time.

Are taking 287 to 78 thru NJ? If so, call us when as you get on 78. At the very least we can watch you pass by Clinton. If it's lunch time we could grab a bite. Got my number?

That's the plan Paula. We're leaving at 0600 so not sure what time we'll be passing by. I'm assuming you can see the interstate from work? That would be cool if you could snap a shot from your window!

I don't have your number.

You're leaving tomorrow, Sat, right? Not working! PM sent.

Topeka is my home. I have 2 antique Marauders ('64 and '70) and and '04 SB. PM me if you want to meet up somewhere. It won't hurt my feelings if you have other plans.

About 20-30 miles into Ohio, 80 turns into a toll road and 76 goes off towards Akron.

it gets really confusing around St. Louis, you could take 270 around it, but I would recommend staying on 70 so that you could see the arch.

Eric and I just got home after having lunch with Pete and Wendy. They made a stop in our neck of the woods on their way out to the mid-west. The DTR looked good! Safe travels, guys. Thanks for lunch. :beer:It was great to see you!

Sorry we had to run so quick. We drove 750 miles today and ended up 20 miles east of Columbus. Thanks for the cookies!!! Wonderful as always! Great seeing you two also.

Found this sign in the middle of Nowhere, KS during my travels. Interesting story, Google.

After spotting a clearing in the hour drive through cornfields, we spot this one-light little town which happens to have the largest privately owned Wizard of Oz museum. Wendy is a fanatic! Needless to say we spent 2 hours inside.

Some great driving down there. Speed limit usually 75 + 10 :)

I don't know how that Marauder got in the pic, seems to happen alot.

Nice, Pete! Love those small towns. Looks a lot like my hometown in Iowa. (except we might have 2 lights.;)) Gotta love the Midwest.

Hey Quicksilver, sorry I didn't get back to you, was going to reply to your post sooner but lost track of it. I didn't mean to ignore your post. Didn't really have much time there so spent the most of it with family. Maybe next time we can get together. I believe there's a meet around Kansas City on a regular basis?

That's OK. Topeka has a cruise night every Saturday at different locations from April through October. Give me a shout if you're in the NE part of the Sunflower State again.
