The pizza in the ATL is so so.... The best I have had is at an out of the way joint in Loganville, GA Bassano's is the name... Its more NY style than Thick Chicago style.... Don't know of a thick pizza place in ATL come to think of it.... There is a good Italian Restaurant not far from the Hotels... Vinny's on Sugarloaf Pkwy. is a good spot.

Steak? Mckendricks (http://www.mckendricks.com/) Is really good and convenient because its on the topside across from the Perimeter Mall (good shopping spot) on Ashford Dunwoody Rd.
Bones (http://www.bonesrestaurant.com/) is uber expensive, but one of the best in Atlanta. Big sides... Veal Chop to die for, Lamb as well... Chops on W. Paces Ferry is in the same class....
Kevin Rathbun Steak (http://www.kevinrathbun.com/restaurants.html) Is in one of the more eclectic neighborhoods in Atlanta. Food is top shelf

If meat and more meat is the deal, the Fogo De Chao is the place.. Every major city has one probably, but its a carnivores delight.

Hope this helps:beer:

One of the topics discussed at length in my Environmental Ethics class this summer was that we (humans) need to drastically reduce, or cut out completely, the consumption of meat....

A Brazilian steakhouse isn't Brazilian food per se... it's just a lot of different meat (pork, steak, chicken, etc) that you can eat as much as you want.

Here in Virginia there's a chain called Texas de Brazil

If there are any adventurous diners coming there is a killer AYCE Korean BBQ buffet nearby that I manage to hit anytime I am in the area.
Prepare to overheat.
For those not in the know, it is a buffet with many different marinated, seasoned, and unseasoned raw meats, many toppings.
You fill one plate with meats, then another plate or 2 with toppings.
Fill another plate with some of the 4-5 different Kimchee choices.
Then go to the other side of the buffet for veggies, shrimp, fish and things that I don't know what they are, but ill eat dam near anything.
You bring the meat back to your table, the waitress comes and lights the grill in the middle of your table and cooks the meats for you, then cuts it up in little pieces.
Then you get a big leaf of romaine lettuce, put in some of the meat, maybe some Sambal Olek hot sauce, bean sauce veggies etc. wrap it up like a burrito, dip it in one of the many sauces and have a ball.

I spent 2 weeks near this place a couple of years ago and put on 9 lbs!

Oh by the way, one of the meats is thick sliced bacon.

Genghis Grill is the same way except it's Mongolian not Korean. You fill your bowl up with protein, vegetables, seasoning and/or sauce then take it over to the massive grill, choose your carb and minutes later it's delivered to you! So good

Chicago pie and East Coast (by that I mean Boston, Metro NYC down to DC) are gonna be way different as you know.... It comes down to style preference (as long as the quality of the ingredients are up to par).... I like all pizza! That said, Pizza done in a wood or charcoal fired oven just gives it that extra sumthin..... That's why I recommend you make the trek to Ea. Boston... Its that good...
