So would the computer controlled hydraulic shocks on the Banks version still work after an EMP burst?

There.....fixed it for ya!

BTW: $100,000 cost...........sounds like Pentagon Pricing!
just for a better turbo and some fancy shocks with a control/display screen is a tad pricey.
I'd rather the military spent $100,000 on armoring the floor boards along with putting a stronger diesel in that thing.

Heck all the manufacturers are getting 400HP and 800+ Ft Lbs out of similar sized diesels.

Just put some of Haggis' "Flaming Skull of Death" in the tank and it shoot over any hill or IAD w/o even touching the ground for just pennies

Good call on the 'EMP' threat.
Those fancy shocks and control screen would be the first things to fry and fail!
Maybe Banks can cover them in gold foil wrap for another $100,000.

THIS is what the military needs to buy.

It's only $400,000+....but HEY....who cares about our tax dollars??...:dunno:

quite a bit of difference does 30+ years of innovation. Humvees were designed originally with the 6.2 Detroit Diesel engine (Naturally Aspirated and Indirect Injection).

Not to mention top speed was originally designated as 55MPH. newer engines have computers. the drivetrain on humvees have only one computer and that is for the transmission (which is EMP protected) today's Turbo-charged, Direct Injection diesels have computers plus run too hot for the poor cooling stack (compared to cooling stacks from 3/4 and 1 ton Diesels. A Humvee's cooling stack is on an angle and is directly above the front differential limiting cooling capability (which is part of the reason the hood has changed; the headlights being brought forward allowing for a better cooling stack to be installed). That's just the cooling stack issues. other engines are dimensionally larger and cause other problems such as need for body lift which brings ~2.5-3.5 tons of armor 2-3 inches higher. Thats a big change in center of gravity. Those are just some of the reasons the Humvee hasn't moved from the 6.2/6.5 engines.

so the cost is $50-100K. for exhaust brake (part of new exhaust system), newer turbo setup, injection setup, billet torque converter, new six speed transmission, new 2 piece wheels with tires (those alone might cost 10K or more), New springs, magnetic shocks (don't forget new mounting pieces and hardware), control computer for shocks.

part of the cost of probably refurbing the truck. why put all these upgrades and new parts on if the other parts are worn such as ball joints, etc.
