and the MIL light on. Buddy here pulls a code P2004(IMRC stuck open) & P0300(Random misfire). Looks like the IMRC motor or linkage is siezed or binding. Removes the intake manifold & finds this...

What's that little shiney thing sticking out of the intake runner???
IT'S A VALVE STEM!

Just seal up the intake to that cylinder and run it on 7. :D


I bet the top of that piston looks just as good as the edges of the valve head.

Being that it's an '05 with no extended warranty and no maintenance or repair history,no. I do believe the owner has contacted Ford to see about any possible assistance. It's out of our(The Dealer's) hands.

No mine runs fine, but doesn't drive. Transmission out and awaiting rebuild. Someday. :(
