Sticky goo coming from bottom guage set

Ok! Not sure how to describe this.... Around the top edge of the bottom center-stack GUAGE set.... Is oozing a thick sticky goo. No taste or smell.... I noticed it 6 months ago, and finally touched it. It is coming SLOW....

Thought it might be radiator coolant dried... But has no taste nor smell.

I am at a loss. Ideas? How do. I clean it? Where is it coming from?

Sticky glue used to cover the clips that are either broken or missing.

The rubber trim strip along the top is stuck on with that goo......remove the gauge pod and rubber strip to clean it off!!:cool:

I think I used rubbing alcohol to cut it.....did it 6 years ago!!:beer:

Marauderjack got it right.... Glue used to secure the rubber gasket to the gauge pod so it doesn't rub and cause squeaks.

Goo Gone or rubbing alcohol takes it off.

Yeah mine has this on it as well, I used some rubbing alcohol (97%) and it cleaned right up

Same issue here. Probably because regular triple digit temps here in Houston. I swear you could cook things inside the car even with a sunshade. :alone:

My concern was that it may have been dried rediator fluid--and thus generally would taste sweet.

I just went out and checked mine. Dang thing is leaking too. The temps have been higher than the rest of the summer. I guess I will have to take the pod off and clean it. It's already driving me nuts.
