I'm sure its been done here before but I'm new :D
With all the power out around us we are lucky enough to still have it but the cable is out. So I started to rummage through the pile of Dvd's its a small pile, and i have kids so some are scratched and most aren't in he right case :shake:
But I found IT!! My favorite Christmas movie of all time:
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation!!
Of course nobody else in the house can stand it any more
The wife is at work and the kids scattered like flies.
But I had some alone time and got it off the list early this year.

"A Christmas Story" almost exactly as I remember Christmas in the 1950's except for the major award leg lamp in the front window. The furnace fixing vocabulary was right on the money.

A Christmas Story used to be a movie I looked forward to every year, but ever since TNT or TBS or whatever channel it's on started airing it 24 hours a day around Christmas, ad nauseam, I don't particularly care for it anymore.

Lucas won't release it even in box sets. I saw it too. They ran it and The Star Wars Celebration I went to in Indiana when Episode III came out. The room was packed!!!

That would be my #2.
Every year on Christmas Eve, my little girl and I watch Nightmare before Christmas.
Every Christmas Day evening after she goes home, I watch Bad Santa and Scrooged.
This year I don't have my kid for Christmas, so we're gonna watch Nightmare on Turkey Day, and I'm gonna stay up all night on Christmas Eve, drink as much beer as I can keep down, and watch the rest. If I'm still coherent after Scrooged, I'll settle in with Netflix and their pretty awesome Anime catalog.
That seems like a pretty decent way to spend Christmas alone.

Totally forgot about this but Toys is up there in my list of quirky, fave movies. Not an Xmas movie per se, but the beginning and end of the film takes place around Christmas and has Yuletide elements.

Add another vote for 'Christmas Story'.
Every year for the Holidays, I have to watch it along with 'Planes, Trains & Automobiles'.
Also like the original 'Grinch who stole Christmas' and 'Scrooged'.

This 1951 version of A Christmas Carol.
The lead actor, Alastair Sim, was made for the part. Doesn't even look like he was acting.
