Dom, you have a big heart. That i respect about you. But with all due respect:

Sponsor my blown up car!!

Please sponsor my band!!

All while there was child abuse and children starving in third world countries!

Look in the mirror before you attempt to call others out.

Wow people lost their homes and everyone here is posting what intake to buy.

Shame, shame, shame.

Yes, it is sad, and it is a tragedy, but all the property, cars, buildings etc., those can be replaced, lives cannot.

And at any given time, there is tragedy and devastation all over the world, that doesn't mean we should stop living our lives.

I do commend you for caring as you do, and for doing whatever you can to help, the world needs more people like you.

Look in the mirror? I do not see your point.

Are you calling me an abused child??? You'd be right. Thats why I like helping. I know what its like.

Past sponsors having nothing to do with natural disaster. Plus unlike most, whats given is actually used toward the cause.

Plus, I do not know where most people would be if not for bank loans or sponsors. Do you not have a loan to pay off or investors for your business? If not, please share the secrets of how to get the golden key to the crapper.

I do commend you for caring as you do, and for doing whatever you can to help, the world needs more people like you.

Ha! I don't know about that. Sometimes I do not like me at all.

You are using the word sponsor incorrectly. A sponsor provides financial backing for an enterprise in return for publicity. Look at Nascar. Every team has a main sponsor plus numerous others. They pay for the expenses whether they win or lose. In return their name is plastered on the car driving suit etc. And is verbally mentioned during interviews. Bank loans are not sponsers. They are paid back with interest. They earn their money over the life of loan. And this isn't AA or the 12 step program website. It is a car site and money will be spent on car parts and talked about. Sorry you feel we are above natural disasters. We help eacb other here e everyday with tips etc.

Gotta say, I find this thread ridiculous.

First off I won't be guilted into giving money just because a thread is started.

Secondly, there are many ways to help, not all roads go through you and many people on this site give until it hurts, it's just not made public on the site.

Yes what happened in Peoria is tragic, and if I still lived in Illinois I would have been there helping like I did in Plainfield in the nineties.

You'll forgive me if I didn't want to send money to you to buy water and food to take up there, I'd rather give it to the Red Cross or any of the numerous other aid organizations.

But calling people out because they didn't send you money to help overnight just wreaks of so many things.

Sorry Dom, but I don't need to take a tsk tsk from you when you have no idea what I give, or donate.

So here's a stool for you any time you wanna climb on your soap box and point fingers at us for our lack of charity

By the way Dom, there were tragedies outside of Chicago in the world while you were posting up about putting your engine in, that's what he meant by looking in the mirror,

But like with everything else, it will fall on deaf ears

I do not recall anywhere, anyhow, ever someone asking to be paypal'd or sent money in any form directly to them for distribution to a disaster, this is unreal, suggesting charities to send it to is fine, but direct paypal, I think not.

Whatever.

I was there. I drove through areas with debree. I am now home. You are right it is on deaf ears. I do not give a hoot about your judgement calls. None of you were there to make a statement that I was comitting fraud.

Brad, we know who you vote for. Thought you would be the first to help.

What a joke.

I am glad I met new faces today. Finally, a car meet about driving and helping instead of drinking and politic ranting.

Look at your post 4. You mean we should stop buying our planned car parts because of a natural disaster and send those funds to help? It's pretty much what you implied. This once again is a car forum. Glad you could go and help those who had losses. There are natural disasters almost weekly. Are you leaving for the typhoon disaster? Most of us here seem pretty generous. Just because we helped somebody else in need that was not on national news. We all don't see the world thru your eyes.

Dom

Happy you went. Now do it again, and again and again. That is when we can see it is sincere. I train every week for events such as these .. So yes I know how it is. I teach others how to respond to events like this, so yeah I can say this.

As for giving you money over my car funds ... Not gonna happen. Two reasons: one if I give to a registered agency (red cross etc) they buy stuff in bulk, get a better price and therefore my money goes further. Two, I am human and I need a stress release-my car is that for me.

Stay on or get off your high horse. Does not matter. Your actions will always speak louder than your words. Maybe someday we will meet in the floodwaters of The Philippines or in the middle of an earthquake ravenges area of Haiti ... Never know.

Good God. I prove that I went and that's still not good enough??? This is exactly where my "I don't give a *hi* about what you think of me" attitude comes from is people like you.

Sorry, I ever asked. Sorry, the deals were not good enough for you, sorry I went once, sorry this isn't a normal occurrence.

I hope to never meet you. I'm not on any high horse. If anything, I regret coming out from under the rock I stay under by asking for help and actually doing good. Screw you and your car parts.

Go buy an intake and go to sleep knowing others are homeless though no fault of their own.

Your inability to get the point is astounding.

No one doubted you went, or were trying to help, you got kudos for that. Here's the part you miss kid, is where you fired a shot at us for not sending you money to help, that's what we are striking back about.

And who I vote for has nothing to do with it. Im not going to discuss my portfolio or my charities with the likes of you.. Here's the difference Dom, I don't need to show proof I help.

Kudos to you for pitching in, we have all said that and no one is critiquing you for that.

Your bullet about us discussing intakes instead of helping is why you are getting all this grief.

And deservedly so, grow up

Ahem. I was tied up giving a few hours labor towards a friends car to keep it running, misc parts, and a wad of cash to help provide gifts for Christmas to her children as she is going thru a nasty divorce and doesn't have a pot to piss in.

As mentioned, don't get so butt hurt over us ignoring strangers, most of which have insurance, while having zero clue just how much we donate on a local level. This was a small example of what most here do day in and day out. I believe you know first hand how much some of us donate, even if not needed, but that's just who we are.

Forgot something. One of our mutual friends also bought my escort and also is purchasing four new tires for it and handing the keys to his brother in need. This and my post above both happened just yesterday, now you can see why some of us get rubbed wrong when accused for not caring. You did good and I'm sure you slept well and that's all that counts in the end. Kudos.

BTW My boss and a couple of his kids went to Washington Friday with a truck, trailer, and a piece of equipment each to donate thru his church group. There is more help than you know, but all is appreciated. So much so, they were turned away for 24 hrs from the state due to too many other good willed people and not enough space.

No. I find it for less than that. You know how you drink a cold beer after a day of work? I don't do that, I eat fish. That's how I reward myself. So there. What I am supposed do? Not eat?

You bringing up subjects that has nothing to do with the topic only proves your argument is weak. Zack has nothing to do with anything nor do junkyards. What I do and who I do it with is none of your business. Actually, life is better without Zack (hear that Zack? I know you are reading) Life has gotten so much better without someone bitching me out every time I have a problem that I have never dealt with before. I don't punch a 9-5 clock like I am assuming you do. Act as if I am being cheap by going to junkyards for parts when in reality it's my only option because of financial reasons.

I could explain my life story, but I don't have that kinda time. Nor do I wanna bore you with trips to The Playboy Mansion or using my 20s to establish a carrier instead of starting a family or a 401K.

This is a perfect example of what happens when you don't spank your child, give them way too many material things, and support them until they are well into their twenties. Be glad you weren't born a baby tiger, you would have be eaten by your mother shortly thereafter.

Yes I donated to a person before to give to another, buf I am assuming cpming from me is meaningless.

The only point I tried to make was that you sort jumped on the forum membership for talking about what intakes to purchase when there were people in need due to a disaster that struck. You called us out on it with a "shame shame shame"....You went and helped and we all commended you for it and still do. You merely tried to see if others wanted to make a monetary effort towards supplies. If some did then fine, if noone did then that is the way it is. You sprung it on the forum with like a day or two at most warning. Don't criticize us for not being on the Dom bandwagon. We can't be everything to everyone. I'll say it again, there are alot of generous people here and you don't see it so dont condemn them. You did what I would like to do someday, be in a position where I can go and offer my physical self to help gather belongings, give water or clean clothes to someone who only has what is on their back. We all can't make a decision to do this on short notice. My sister works in a hospital..hospitals never close...My mother is 82 years old and had back surgery and needs help every day..is she not a person in need? I'm sorry for the people who lost their whole lifes belongings. just be glad that you and your friends were able to make a difference.

No I work 7 to 3 job. Maybe that's why I can buy new parts and keep my car on the road. I never met Zack, but all I hear is good things about him helping people, you were like a leech and he finally let you loose, loser. Play in the band, get junkyard parts, sleep until one, go to playboy mansions with $2.00 in you're pocket, grow the F- up kid. There are a lot of unsung heroes out there but you have no idea about that. Last, I have never spoke anything on here other than MM's, everyone has different issues and life changing events, but you are an a--- h---, and it really pissed me off with you're slamming good people on this site. My apology to all, excluding Dom, for my rants & raves. I am done with this BS.

Let me be the FIRST to step in here and interject. You have no clue just how much fun, relationships, experiences, finances, and one hell of a retirement he has built in his short professional career. By the time he was your age, he was already a self built man who I looked up too and had a solid future already established. All this and not a depressive bone in his body, just happiness and rewards for hard work. You could only dream of a fun and lucrative lifestyle like he lives.

Bashing Zack again? Is this really the way you treat those who are close to you? When we met six years ago you told me yourself his words were 90% humor spoken. Don't go there, he has been your FRIEND, teacher, and savior since you first met. No matter the grievance, this is utter B.S. and laundry that should not be shared. Ever.
