Before I did some mods my gas mileage around town was alot better. I'm useing Amoco 93 oct. gas and the average MPH around town is 45-50. I'm don't drive the car hard and I'm getting average of 12.4 MPG.( 235 per tank ).I haven't tested it on the high way yet. I was wondering how everyone else does ?

Mine eats gas, but that could be cuz of the way I drive it.:D

I get between 225-260 miles on a tank mininium depending on how much highway driving I get on the tank. Pure highway I get well over 350 miles on a tank. My gas mileage is 17.0 minimum and nearly 25 mpg on the highway trips. Note this was on my '03 with 24,000 miles on her. The '04 only has about 40 miles on it so far.

Around town I average 17-18 mpg. On the highway, I have gotten 22 on rare occassions, but usually around 20.

My '03 with DR chip, stat, and Densos got 16 and a little less around town. About 20 on the highway.

My stock '04 I've only filled up once. 215 miles of half city/half hwy: 20 mpg.

Even I get 13.5 to 14 MPG (city) and I have the 4.56's. Something sounds wrong. Can it be that your air filter is clogged or very dirty? When I had the 4.10's I was getting 15 MPG city. And drive it hard. I do use nothing but 93 octane, but some people say that has nothing to do w/the octane.

Cobra if you are sure about the 235 miles, you would have to use the entire 19 gallon tank, I have never been able to pump more than 18 gallons into my tank.

I was wondering about that myself. 235 miles divided by 12.4 mpg = 18.95 gallons. On my '03 I could rarely get more than 17-17.5 gallons in her. No flame intended, but you ARE dividing the number of miles actually driven on the tank by how much gas you put in at fill up, aren't you? It sounds like you may be just dividing your miles traveled by the size of the tank (19 gals.). Again, no flame intended.

When the low fuel light comes on, and I'm as close to empty as I feel safe being, I have never been able to quite get 17 gallons into her.

I get about 17-18 average. I drive 25 miles each way to work on highway (65-75 mph), then around town as well.

When I filled up once, got directly on the highway, drove about 6 hours at about 60 mph (had to, it was snowing) got off the highway & filled up again & got 28 MPG. I was shocked at the savings of driving at Grand Marquis speds, rather than Marauder speeds.

My last tank which was half highway, half in town was 22.5 mpg. On trips, I usually get between 24 and 25 mpg.

low fuel light? I have never seen mine, I always keep at least 1/2 a tank,
never have gotten below 15, on the road 24. Letting your fuel get that low may cause some problems with acceleration starvation according to those here who know about such things.

Again, no flame intended. 12.4 is my average mpg around town, I have not traveled 235 miles on a tank of gas only figured that 12.4 x 19 gal tank would give me 235 approx. My air filter is new by the way,and the car has only 4700 miles on it.

I have an overall average of 15 MPG. If I drive only the highway I can get about 21 MPG. But around town, I get between 12.5 - 16 MPG, depending on how heavy my foot feels that tankful. I have also never gotten more than 16.5 gallons in the tank when light comes on.

I have a program that I enter all my maintenence records into. It calculates milage, has charts, and reports and such. Man, I'm a car geek.:P

I've consistently gotten 15-16 mpg and 160-something miles in pure city driving. That's a totally stock car not driven too hard (well, not much...)

I usually get about 20 mpg. I drive about 45 miles a day, 90% highway, and I drive it like a rental. I'm usually running late, so my foot is heavy. I am taking it on the highway in a few weeks so I am anxious to see what it will get. It gets a heck of a lot better than wifeys 'Burb @ 12 mpg.

Well, the best so far has been , at a steady 70 on the highway , about 20 MPG.....in town with not much horse play , about 15, but it usually ends up about 10-12 MPG I'm guessing cause I really haven't checked it in town.....just using the quarter tank as a gauge vs miles driven......so ...when the foot gets heavy...the gauge goes down fast especially with the S/C.....

AND now since the gas has become so much higher in cost, it's use has become more thoughout than before --gas wise.....

All of which may play a hand in dealing for any new '04 since the gas has become more costly$$$$.........hmmmmmmmmmm m.........Tom
