What is a good 60' time for a NA Marauder?

That question is pretty vague, it depends on what the mods are.

With a good launch and not spinning 1.8-1.9 would be on par, maybe 2.0.

hmmm.... When I was at the track, I felt like it left pretty hard. But, it was my first time. Foot on gas and brake just till about the point the car would want to move, then stomp. Only on the third and last run did it spin. But it was only a brief spin. All three runs were around a 2.3 60'.
How could I improve that?

I was pulling consistent 1.9 60' times with 4.10s and a 3k stall converter by just mashing the gas off the line. I tried the stalling method, but had better results flashing the converter instead.

How much did/does the stall help? Doesn't that give you like a 3000 rpm launch?

Who did your tune? Is it just an email tune or did you have a dyno tune done?

The guy I bought it from said there was a tune but he didn't know from who. Someone had to tune it for the gears that were installed. The speedo seems correct ~ +/- 1mph. Also, as hard as it shifts 1-2nd, I would assume that could only be done via a tune also.
I was thinking of getting a SCT or just taking it over to Justin at J&J in Cape Coral for a dyno tune session. If I do the latter, do I really need to mess with buying an SCT?

I'm thinking 2.0 or better would be pretty good....

These cars are huge. I commend you for doing 4.30's. They will help a ton.
Best 60' foot will be obtained by having enough tire to allow a fully stalled launch with no wheel spin.
Looking at your mods, slicks would be a good idea.

Sometimes, since I do limited highway travel, I even think about 4.56's until the Eaton Swap is done...:run:

I frequently make trips across the Utah/Nevada desert area's with the cruise at 90-95. If I didn't do that so regularly I'd have 4.30's as well. Never fear the gear these cars need em!!!

Wow! I bet there is not much need for a stereo with all the harmonics of the 32 valves singing along @ 95mph!;) I am pushing 3000 rpm approaching 80 mph! What rpm is 95?

About 3k.
We had 4.30's in our last N/A Cobra. It would sit right at 3k at 75. Drove it cross country home and the wife daily drove it. If I ever get another N/A 4V mustang it'll have 4.30's again. Loved em.

What gear are you running in the Merc? Yeah, they love to rev! I had one with 4.10's. Lots of fun!

Yes in theory. Its like a neutral drop at 3K RPMs.
This video will show you what the stall converter does at WOT off idle, just watch the tach. It was a hot humid day and the car just felt sluggish. This was the first time I seen it flash near 3K RPMs before doing anything.

Wow! That pretty much explains it! No tire spin, though? Was that pre-supercharger or post-supercharger? :dunno:
I would have been spinning like crazy without the SC! Especially in 2nd...

That's no doubt pre-supercharger.

Thanks! Nice vids!;) In a week or so, when my son gets home from College, I will have him trim and post the video from my last run at the track. Right now it's kinda long in the beginning waiting to pull up and all.
