Guys, my mom is going to the doctor today and I am assuming the results will not be good. She has had Lupus for over 30 years (yes before I was born) and 40% lung capacity for probably the last 15. Well right now she can only function with an oxygen tank and even with the tank it seems like more help is needed. I cannot visit her because I am stuck here in Chicago and my parents are in FL.

I ask you to pray she has a recovery and we can do something.

Those of you who know me well know their goes against my beliefs, but if someday I can be proved wrong, I will be glad to know I helped while I could. Even if away.

Update:

She still has not gone to the hospital and refuses to go. Gathered enough energy to convince her sisters that she is ok.... her own way of saying f-off. has not even set foot out of the house in the past week and a half, coughing up white and gray fluid. Sometimes she has enough energy to say hello on the phone, but usually it does not exceed three minutes, sometimes it's only one minute.

I was told this is the best she has been in two days, so something happened. How long it will last, I am not sure. I hope to be able to drive down there soon. I'd fly, but it's twice as much as driving with short notice, plus I do not know when I would leave once down there.

It's a rough road right now. Thanks for your support.

Dom....... you need to go see your Mom, she's the only one you will ever have, you owe her that much.

Can't you just pay a "fix it attempt" and go on with the EPA? That's how it used to work here at least..:confused:

Dom, I was going to suggest taking the greyhound, but their shotty website doesn't easily show a route to anywhere in florida from here. I then looked at amtrak, but is more than a flight. Use hotwire to find a cheap plane ticket. I don't know if you mentioned where she is located, but I found a flight from chicago to tampa and return a week later for $359.

I already have it on three month extention. It should be "fixed" just in time.

If your question is "You couldn't fix it in three months?" The answer is yes. Nothing is "wrong", it's just that certain things are not turned on and it needs a tune to protect the environment. Screw the EPA. I will be calling them and complaining. I am well aware it will fall on deaf ears, but it's nice to get out your frustration right to the source.

Mommy is out of the hospital and is home.

Turns out this was all due to an allergic reaction from recent medication.

I'm still attempting to drive down there next month though.
