You are missing a digit in the last 6 for the 2003 MM. The other is an '04.

Looks like a 1 to me. Just a heads up on a salvage title....from what happened to me: bought the car with a salvage title, then somebody stole it, i got nothing for the car.....nothing! Since the car has technically already been 'paid' from a priot incident, insurance will not pay for it again. Be weary of it, and if you still buy it, understand that you will have to either pay cash, or get a personal loan since insurance will not offer full coverage. Also, make sure you get a badazz alarm system and possibly lo-jack to protect it from theft.

Wrong. I had a car that was a salvage title (which I rebuilt) that I had full coverage on and made a claim. The car was a total loss and insurance paid out in full.

To me too. The white reflection kinda blocks out the last "1" digit. The report that was run by clintons4 ending in "41" bears this out. Good Job !!

Do you mean the title was rebuilt or the car?

I purchased the car wrecked with a salvage title. I rebuilt the car, it was then issued a rebuilt salvage title. Several years later I had to make a claim on it when it was wrecked. The insurance paid out in full on the car as a total loss.

Ok, im not sure what went wrong with mine, i guess the title was never 'rebuilt' on mine.

Thanks! btw, If I do work things out, Im going to be doing a very thorough inspection. What Marauder specific things should I be looking for? Today I was able to check the EATC, power peddles, and air suspension. All vents worked, peddles still moved. as far as the air suspension, any specific things I should be doing? Will I hear a compressor kick in when I turn the car on? both cars had appropriate ride height. Anything im missing? Marauder specific things I should be checking under the engine? The black marauder was missing floor mats :(

You should hear the air compressor kick on for the rear, if the rear is low.

Check for proper size tires. If 03, should have a full size spare.

Floor mats, see if redline tuning still sells them. I like those better than my OEM, so much so, I sold the OEM.

How many miles? The mile will drive other things to look at.

Only the '03 300A's had the full sized spare. The 300B's got the donut spare. A few cars near the very end of the production run in '03 also got full sized spares.

Did not know that! I thought it was all 03's. I am still learning.

Some of the 2003 MMs with high build numbers ended up with a full sized spare as well. SC Cheesehead got one of them in one of the very last Blue MMs (#326 of 328). FORD must have had some left over from the 300As and just put them in on the end of the line.

The 2003 MM with VIN 2MEHM75V13X639741 was built near the end of September 2002 and might be at the crossover point for the change over from 300A to 300B or it may be one of the "Pre-Decontented" versions that ended up with a mix of 300A and 300B features. The initial odometer reading was from 9/27/2002.

A quick way to tell a 300a from a 300b is the gas door, 300a has to be opened through a remote door release on the inside of the drivers door. Check for leaks or any wet spots under/on the car. If you notice a clean area on a otherwise dirty motor, it could be that a leaky point was wiped clean before you got there. Check all fluids for correct color, clarity, level and smell. Ask the owner if any parts have ever been replaced, if so were they replaced with oem parts, keep in mind some oem aren't even made anymore...oh, and 300a are faster....just ask richardp :P

Some 300A cars have paint issues. Mine didn't, but I have seen a MM with paint bubbles and rust on the roof. I came to learn later that fixing rust issues is more complicated than most realize. I suspect you don't have paint bubbles, but watch for signs that the car has been painted (look inside the door jams, around the seals, for over-spray). Look under the car for rust also.

BTW, I am on the process of purchasing a SB. Hope to have the transaction completed in the next few days. Then I'll have to ship it.

Good luck.

My 300B had the dreaded paint issue. At first glance it looked like rock chips on the hood, but under magnification you could see that the paint was erupting like little volcanos from underneath. After several arguments with the local dealer, I had them get the district service rep from ford involved.
he okay'd a complete repaint.
