Oh my God, they're cancelling the Marauder for 2005!!!

DETROIT - Mercury will drop the Marauder performance sedan after the 2004 model year. Production of the Marauder at the St. Thomas, Ontario, assembly plant will end in June, a Mercury spokesman said last week.

"We made a decision to concentrate our resources on the new launches," Mercury spokesman Todd Nissen said. Mercury will introduce the Montego sedan and Mariner sport wagon in September.

Mercury doesn't break out sales for the Marauder, which is part of the Grand Marquis family. The Marauder's base sticker is $34,945, including the destination charge.

Car and driver has tested Marauders? First I have heard of it

Car & Driver tested the Marauder twice.

One was the regular test. (artical said "to test a Marauder we got an original Marauder Man)

Second was April '03 The first Kenny Brown. ( your old one?)

I noticed your "too small jacket" in your laundry list and wanted to ask about it. I just got my card from Darryl Hazel today, and my first reaction was panic about which size to order. In fact, i got on here to ask about it, and was looking to see if there was a thread about it before starting one. Maybe you can help - and I hope they will exhange yours. Now, since i wear t-shirts that say 42-44/L, and the jackets sizes include a 42 and a 44-46, from your experience it appears the best choice would be the 44-46, yes? Besides, its easier to gain wt. than lose. Thanks for any advice on this difficult question!

;) From visiting Healy Lincoln/Mercury parts department talking about the end of the Marauder , he stated that he was on the phone with a Top manager at the assembly plant in Ontario who told him that the Mercury Marauder will return with a newly designed body , a New 3-Valve per cylinder Cobra V-8 Engine with a Factory Turbo Charger . I don't know if this is the Gospel According to Ford but the Parts Manager was insistent that they are redesigning the Panther Platform and thats why they were halting production past 2004 . just my Info...
