Overdrive Light

The last couple of days the overdrive has been kicking in and out without me pressing the button on the shifter. Then the light came on and blinked until I stopped and parked and shut the motor off. What is the issue that is causing the overdrive to work by itself? Is there a sensor of some sort?

Over drive light blinking means there is an issue with trans. You can first check fluid. is itlow? is nice cherry red? is dark, smell burnt? You can also have the code read. The code will direct an area of possible causs. It might be overheating which is not good for trans. or other issues. I would recommend having it checked and not driving it .

A blinking OD-Off light means "stop driving the car and get it checked before you cause potentially expensive damage". It could be something simple now...
