Last October my marauder blew up for no reason . I was data logging while it happened and it showed nothing relevant to the catastrophic motor demise. The motor was pulled and thorough went through. No factory defect was present no lack of oil nothing wrong with the tune. So what could it be? Bad Gas. I did the unexpected. I filed a claim with my insurance company. The motor was an aluminator with trillogy #235 3.0 upper and 4lb lower making 440 hp and 483 torque to the wheels. The nada value is 13000.00. However my car was appraised for stated value of $30,000.00. My wonderful insurance co is paying the whole bill to take out the motor have the best motor builder in new England to rebuild it from top to bottom with all the best parts new valve job and deferring the cams. 10000.00 plus they are paying for the uninstall and reinstall, $3500.00 which includes retuning. So while everything is out I had the transmission rebuilt by Fred brown out of newyork . It can handle 900 hp. A stallion torque converter multi. Disc which can handle up to 1200 hp. The trillogy was ported by the Jokers brad in Chicago. A NEW accufab throttle body. Custom polishing for the trillogy by Racer x. We are expecting close to 550 hp on the wheels. All because I made a phone call and pushed the limit by being my own advocate. The car has already turned 12.53 in the 1/4 mile and now with another 100 hp on the wheels I'm hoping to see mid 11's or better if I lose some weight! If your motor blows it just might be the gas

Sounds like a good project. 550 to the wheels though?
How did you arrive at that number?

A Whipple 2.3 at 18psi makes 550rwhp for reference.

You going E85?

Simple math already makes 440 + ported tillogy + accufab throttle body + degreeing the cams running 18 psi + jet white coating the headers 75 + 20 +40 +15 and some prayers and luck which harem to have plenty of!

That combo will make 500-510 on 93 octane.

You mean a bad batch of 93?

nh muscle

It must have been a bad batch of 93 or excess water in the gas stations tank. Either way I will have a brand new kickass drivetrain . I should get many years of fun out of it.

Plus one on this. I had a Trilogy and was running a 4lb lower with 3.0 upper and made 493 at 17lbs. Jake (DOOM) is running the same and pulling 505.00. Both of our blowers were port matched by Posi. I also have Kooks headers and at that time was running 2.5" pipes all the way back. Right now I'm running a 2.3 Whipple at 18.5lbs pulling 553.92. I have the same Kooks headers but increased the exhaust to 3" all the way back including over the axle.

Either way you have a smoking setup and will enjoy it! Keep us posted on the numbers. Make a video when you get it on the dyno. It's always fun to go back and watch. :D Can't wait to see how you come out. Sounds like an awesome build!

Ken's got a bigger fp, one of my modded fpdms, wiring upgrade, etc. gong in. With sticky shoes, should see an 11.5/11.6

His Aluminator that blew was the high cr one, not the 8.5:1 lower cr sc option. The new build is 9.x:1 cr

Running an Eaton at 18 psi is pointless! Ported or not it's well beyond its efficiency range, and it will not make 550 unless lightning strikes!

His is a Trilogy btw, similar, but, different. I hit 19psi in the cold weather the other day. If you're hitting higher psi, even with an eaton, you're still compressing that air. The prob becomes heat. If you can lower the heat, you will get pretty close to that number. That's why I'll be playing with some meth until I get the whipple. ;)

Yeah, from your hotel balcony overlooking the beach??? Bastid!

It really doesnt matter much because when I have the real need for speed I just take out my modified hayabusa and punch the quarter mile in less than 9.5 seconds! The best part is when I'm going 150 mph and have 2 more gears to go I tend to see competition fall off by the wayside and the parted yellow lines become 1 solid one and then SERENITY!

I'd rather a bit more around me than a leather jacket just in case something happens.

And maybe I missed it - any plans to use an intercooler? I've experienced some heat soaked Eatons and they aren't fun when they get that way.

AMEN!! :D I'm going up over 600 soon. :burnout::burnout:

On pump gas or 104 unleaded. I just replaced my O2s because of 110 leaded gas. I need to eliminate the cats and run a bypass or something.

As for an intercooler I have a nice twin fan one with a b&m fan assisted trans cooler. As for the leather jacket they are useless. I wear an armored one so I don't break anything.

Jeff at Marty's said 93 octane. It will be a few weeks out before it gets pulled on. I have a few parts on the way.
