Real quick, anybody know off hand wht the coolant capacity on our cars? I'm draining oil and coolant today while I swap out this oil filter housing gasket. It's long overdue for a coolant flush anyway. Got 2 gallons of 50/50 blue Honda stuff another member suggested didn't know if that was enough or not.
Its over 2 gallons if its empty. You'll never drain it all unless you remove the block plugs.
What is 50/50 Blue Honda Stuff?
I always buy straight coolant and mix my own. You realize you pay full price for 50% of the coolant?

Capacity is in the owners manual. You should use coolant that meets or exceedes the Ford spec which is also in the manual.

Yea I hate paying that much for half gallon of water but thats the only way Honda sells it. It is spose to be designed for aluminum heads/block so I figured I'd try it out. I know BMW and Honda both use blue coolant.

Which way does our coolant flow? I noticed the 3 way stop sign at the thermostat and I'm kinda confused as to which way its flowing. I know down from the reservoir to the lower hose to the thermostat but does it make a right to the water pump or go straight up to the COT and upper radiator hose?

Considering you will never get all of the coolant out unless you do what Zack said above,...
You may want to make sure the Honda Anti-freeze is compatible with what's is in the block currently?
As an example, the Green versus the Gold Anti-freeze cannot be mixed together from what I have read.
And if a person goes from one to the other, the block has to be thoroughly flushed prior to switching.

I drained my block and just the block and heads took almost 2 gal. Then the radiator took almost another gallon but I am not running stock radiator. And I have no coolant reservoir so it might be equal, not 100% sure.

That's because of your browser's security setting(s).
