Thinking of buying a 2014 Mustang GT Premium Convertible but I have a bad back and knees going to crap. I am turning 60 next month and always wanted one. I am trying to get this local dealer to let me test drive a 13 for a couple days to see what the comfort would be for me. If the Mustang does not work I am thinking of a 2013 F-150 FX4 or a 2013 F150 Lariat both with the Eco-Boost engine and loaded to the hilt.
Question is if not the pony which truck should I buy. I am retired and all are for recreation only I am going to make the plunge within a week

Mustang with bad knees and back :( doesn't sound like you will put too many miles on it :D
IMHO boost the marauder and by either truck. Good luck with your decision.

I love my '12 F150 S CREW with EB.
My wife isn't comfortable in many vehicles, but she is comfortable in the F150.
But don't buy the EB expecting high MPG. The V8 is better on fuel, I have one of each, the V8 gets 3-4 mpg better in town.
The Ecoboost is faster and seems to tow better.

My vote would be for the FX4 with the EB. That's what I will be looking at later on this year to replace my Taurus.

I vote to a blower to the Marauder and the newest Town Car you can find.

I just gave away my 2001 Town Car 235K on it, to a friend in need. What ever I do will be new as my retirement gift...waited a long time for this

Good luck with your search Vince.
When you go to the dealer, offer them a buck three eighty.

I would think a brand new Mustang would be worth at least tree fiddy...

Hmm, if you get the F150, perhaps get the King Ranch edition. Comes with a ton of upgrades over stock

I have owned FX4's and Lariets. In 2008 I got a Kings Ranch F-150 4X4 and have loved it. If you can get one you will also love it. That smell of Real Leather gets me excited. Some times I just sleep in my truck and think of Casey and Joe.....NOT

I drove both of these trucks many times in the summer working at a Ford dealership and i would say it all depends on what kind of bells and whistles you want on the truck. Your best bet is to just go on to the Ford website and custom build one of each exactly how you want it to be and see what comes out to be the cheaper one! Good luck with your search, you will really enjoy the truck, they are awesome.

The looks of the interiors of the F150's are sweet, but I vote for the big Dodge Ram...exterior looks makes up for what little, if any, sweetness of interiors...and get the burnt Orange one...

I say pick up a used 2006 or earlier F-250. 2006 or earlier heavy duty trucks are exempt from emissions. :burnout:

I know it's not even a comparison but my 04 Latiat crew w/160,000 miles drives like a dream. Sooo quiet and a blast in the snow.

I recently purchased a 2013 F150 FX4 Extended cab 5.0 and LOVE it!. I traded in a 2011 F150 crew cab 4X4 and it was nice but not as nice as the new one. The Lariat was equipped about the same as the FX4 but we liked the interior on the FX4 better. It was also a little cheaper and had the skid plates where the Lariat does not. If you get the 4X4 make sure you get step bars for it and maybe even an automatic step that comes out when you open the door because it is quite a step up even with the step bars. So if you have bad knees you should try them out. Also make sure you get the one with the large display and it has the back up option it is awesome. I can back up to my trailer and line up the ball with it and not have to move the trailer at all. The screen has a zoom button on it so when you get close you can zoom in on the hitch. I like driving this truck a lot more than my old truck. It also has a full leather interior. Good luck on your choice.

FWIW, my Parents just bought a 2013 F150 Crew Cab 4x4 Lariat and they love it! In fact, my Mother told my Dad to drive the truck down to FL to visit (over 1000 miles) instead of their Town & Country Limited, lol! She has a bad back. That F-150 is a sweet riding truck! He opted for the v8 rather than the Eco also.

:banana2:Ok...Decision was made
Its the 2014 Lariat
Dealer let me drive a 2013 GT Premium Convertible for a couple days and it does not fit my comfort level. Too tight though leg room was acceptable. I could not get the seat adjusted whereas to a comfort setting that would not aggravate my back. So I will be picking up my 14 Lariat (loaded) by Monday. And of course it did not come in DTR so I got Ruby Red CC thinking I could quell all that DTR bashing. Ford A-Z plan for purchase ...I always wondered could a person do better than that and I have not heard of one who did. do you know anyone who did better than the employee plan?
