After 1974 all Vettes are S%I#@.Agreed.

"Among them were a 1962 Black Corvette, a 1984 PPG Pace Car, and a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder."

Of those three the only one I am sad about is the 1962...maybe the '84.

After 1974? The stingray I saw on a turn table a few days back looked pretty sweet to me.

They ruined them when they dropped the pop-up headlights. While it may be a great driver's car, they're hella ugly now.

Bob, remember when they kicked me out for driving around their bus turn around in reverse for 3 laps? Only 47 to go before I would have won the bet.

I don't think I've ever met a Corvette owner who wasn't so full of himself. I really don't know what it is but I don't want any part of it.

The MM.Net gang visited Mammoth Cave and the National Corvette Museum during the 2nd Annual Louisville Meet during April 2007.

I hate to see this happen to any museum, especially an auto museum, regardless of brand or content. :(

With caves nearby, I suspect sinkholes are not an uncommon occurrence in the area. Lots of limestone. Aerial photos give a really good indication of limestone because the subsidence craters are very evident. I would have thought that lots of subsurface exploration, surveys and core samples would have been taken BEFORE they built on the site. The size of this one should not have been too easy to miss with just a few decent core samples. I'd bet that the museum folks are already in contact with the company that did their engineering and design work on this one.

Its all your fault when mother nature saw that sweet blue ,she needed to make room for it and get rid of the plastic fantastics.

The yellow Cone building on the left is where the sink hole opened up inside, about an 80' circle dumping 8 cars into it. If you walk out of the yellow cone you can see that the ground funnels down about 50' to the water at a 45 degree slope. Parts of this site were at that level at one time before fill was added to make the of the new parking lot. I would think there's a lot more undermining of this site that hasn't been discovered yet. I worked on this site for about 3 months installing the glass on the new addition. I live about 5 miles from here in Bowling Green. This whole area is a Karst/ cave area.

I have stood there many times. I am a former Vette owner (not stuck on myself either) and still a museum member. Just a good thing it happened when no one was there.
