I am looking to get a new alarm system for my car that does the following and wondered if any of you could point me in the right direction.

I looked at the VIPER system that will do this:

Security
Remote Start from Phone
PLUS

Audio Sensor: Detects glass break - an additional layer of protection.
Digital Tilt Motion Sensor: Detects attempts to tow or jack-up your vehicle.
Backup Battery System: Will sound the siren even if a thief disconnects your car battery.
Field Disturbance Sensor: Creates an invisible sensing field around your vehicle.

I guess my question is if you wouldn't go with this one, which one would you go with that would do the same thing?

+1 on this. I just garage park it... If someone takes it it's insured for more then it would cost to buy another...

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk so I may sound retarded.

I have that same viper set up you talked about. With the smart start you can track your car in case if theft and also start no matter where you are and your car is located.

From MY experience the DEI alarm is tops. Avoid proximity and tilt sensors - they suck. Glass breakage sensors work reliably due to the sharp sound glass makes when something metallic touches it. Whoever does the install MUST separate the door input triggers at the LCM or every door will chime when opened. Also the trunk, lights and horn triggers are located there. The Marauder doesn't have a reliable tach signal but voltage sensing with a high threshold will alleviate start and die symptoms. Battery backup is good because cables can easily be compromised. Good luck.

Ive had the viper way back when with the proximity sensors, do you like waking up in the middle of the night because a thunderstorm made your car go nuts? Contact Ctrlraven, i seen he had an alarm system with all the goodies for sale a few months ago, not sure if it sold.

Thanks guys, I'll be checking these out. I also appreciate the thoughts on the motion and glass break sensors. It is a rate occasion if its out over night but if it is if rather know if something happens. Thanks again for the help.

Skip on glassbreak or any vibration sensors. They will be tripped every time a fart can or big pounding stereo drives past.

Will do, Especially if a FART will set it off. My battery would die quick! :D

My buddy's 9C1 Caprice has a super sensitive alarm on it and my 2002 CVPI with a rear cat delete and dumped at the driver's feet (stupid, but I was young and naive and broke) set it off every time I started my car next to his.

Lo-Jack and insurance, it's just a car, forget guns, not worth prison or living with taking a life.

I am looking into Lo Jack as one of the options. Seriously tho, I'd never use a gun if somebody is stealing my car without me in it. I can replace with insurance for sure. Now, if I'm in it and they are trying to take it I won't think twice!

If I were to catch someone in the act of stealing my car, my gun(s) would be in their face. No questions asked. Yeah, it's worth it.
