The conditions were less than favorable yesterday, in fact, they sucked. We should have expected it to be busy, but Lidio and I sat around for 2 1/2 hours to make a pass. He was even numbered street tires, I was odd. He made his pass when it was still partially sunny out, but the wind he mentioned was strong. When I finally got to the staging area 45 minutes after Lidio, they were checking for rain at the end of the track. They were trying to hurry us along, and I missed the chance for a good burnout, my bad, and it hurt me a ton. I held back a wide open throttle launch due to sprinkles on the windshield, but as soon as it launched, I drilled it. I can tell you my ass felt the extra horsepower Lidio found for it. Rear end got squirrely, but I compinsated and rode that ride like a rocket. It was an improvement, but not the cars best and definitely not the driver's best. They closed the track 10 minutes after I made my run.
Bottom line on a new best time at the track is 12.6 @ 109 mph and 60' of 1.9
All things considered, I guess that was pretty good. Just not what I had hoped for. But I will take any improvement! Lidio feels this is a very low 12 second car as it stands. Hopefully I will improve on that next week at the track, I really am anxious to find the best time for this car.

Dave,
You did great! It was only the first run of the season for you and the car. I'm sure your times will drop like a rock in the coming weeks.
Congratulations on a great run!!!!

Congrats Dave. W/out even having a S/Ced MM I can assuredly say that your car will do better w/better track conditions. I say that because I've run consistent 1.9 60' times w/my car that isn't even S/Ced, and that was on street tires.
And Marty has done the same on street tires, and he doesn't even have 4.56 gears like I do. Infact I think that Marty even turned an isolated 1.8 the last time he was at the track. So I know your car can turn consistent 1.8's and possibly a 1.7 like Lidio has.Obviously w/these heavy cars, it's all a matter of how well you can get them to hook. And from my brief experience at the track, what I've learned is it also has a lot to do w/how well you know your car, and how well your launch technique is zeroed in.
So IMO, turning a 12.6 ET isn't anything to sneeze at considering a 1.9 60' time.

I will tell you, once I got the spinning undercontrol and got into it full throttle, that car pulls like nothing I have ever driven before. If it hooks after a proper burnout, on a nice cool day, its gonna do much better. My best time before this was 12.96, so even with the crappy run, I still managed to knock .3 off my time. My usual 60' times are 1.75 to 1.85 usually. Next week Lidio and I will be running again, but there will be a lot less cars there too, so I can get into the swing again. Thanks Bill.

Great Job Dave. You will have fun in upcoming weeks lowering that time. BTW - we got turned away as the weather worsened - never made a third run.
