I took delivery of my MM on 11/8/02. Have not received any correspondence about the jacket. Called the dealership and the saleman I bought from told me there was a shortgage of jackets and that by Christmas I would get word from Mercury. I doubt there is a shortga e of jackets (MM's are not exactly flying off of dealer lots) It's 12/23/02 and nothing has happended. Can anyone give me the Mercury customer service number. I've called one of the numbers on this thread but was not connected to a live person. Many thanks!

If the 800 number doesn't work, the number on my jacket box reads Allen Pinter, Mercury Marauder Program HQ 248-458-1522. Address is 1501 Maple Lane, Troy Lane, MI 48084

Johnny

I picked mine up on the SAME day. But I got my card and returned it nearly 10 days ago. I'm hoping my jacket comes any day now.

Seqence

1) Picked up car 11/08/02
2) Wait 3 weeks, no card
3) Pester living **** out of dealer for a week - no card
4) I then stop by the dealership for a visit (warranty work - heater

(I hate Bill Gates)

Rest of Sequence

4) Heater motor defective - replaced. But I happened to be there when the regional manager stopped by. So, I asked, "where might the card be for my jacket". The reply - "You will receive it three weeks after purchase." To which I replied "That would have been about two weeks ago." Many apologies and FOUR (4) business days later it was in my hands.

Net is: I would bypass the dealership and call the 800 number if I were you. I think the people on the other end of the phone will be more responsive to you than the dealership.

After all, they're measured on the service they give to the customer, not the dealership.

After badgering the dealer and the 800 number, the usual, yadda, yadda, yadda...

I got the card, sent it in about 3 weeks ago; jacket arrived yesterday in good shape.

I was just a teenie bit disappointed that it doesn't have the God's-Head logo or the word Marauder on the outside anywhere, just in the lining...
It is a very nice jacket, though...

Like everyone else said, keep pestering the dealer and the phone number...

As I may have mentioned before, I think you still "bug" or "bother" the dealer. The regional manager may ask if you have gone through them, and at least you can say you did.

Once you get no good answer or the continual blowoff by the dealer, then go to the regional folks and lay your concern about, 1) the lack of assistance by the dealer, 2) your concern about not being treated like all other Marauder purchasers.

Should Ford sometime in the future decide to take away franchises, I'd think they're going to look at their "problem children", i.e. those dealerships who aren't doing right by their customers.

We have a local source that we use for all our custom jackets and shirts for our Funny Car team and our employees as well as our stores. when I heard the jacket had no outside ID I gave them a call, When mine gets here it's going straight to them for custom embossing in silver matallic w/Gods Head and the name MARAUDER on the left vest pocket area. will post a pic when I get it back.

Been on Christmas vacation - still getting caught up here.

Got the MM on 11/9
Got the survey and cars 12/9
Got the jacket 12/20
(1 day after my birthday, but early for Christmas!)

Yeah, it's an OK jacket. But I was a little disappointed: it's too plain. It looks almost identical to a jacket my wife gave me 2 years ago.

Nice fit, though.

I called the 800 number the other day and a very nice and polite woman said that Mr. Allen Pinter would get back to me. That never happened. The dealer is also side stepping the issue, telling me to wait because there is a "jacket shortage". In addition, I didn't get any correspondence from Mercury confirming my purchase. In the past I have received thank you letters from Ford and a survey to fill out. I'm really getting pissed off. No wonder Ford sales are tanking......

JB -

I got my MM in August, went to the dealer twice with no joy on the jacket, never got any info from Mercury, finally wrote a letter to Mercury. The service department seems to be OK, but the sales department in my dealer don't have a clue. Not even a thank you note from the salesperson...

I got the 800# for the jacket, several run-arounds from whoever is on the other end of those numbers, finally threatened to return the car 'cause the deal wasn't consumated until the jacket was received, finally got Alan Pinter's number.

I called Alan, he got the MM info, checked with Mercury, called me back the following day, said "no jacket because it was a 'friend/family' deal", but that Mercury had decided to expand the jacket program to all buyers due to customer complaints.

Alan asked me to send over size, vehicle info, etc. via email and he would ship jacket.

A week later I got a card in the mail asking for the same information. I filled out and returned the card and two weeks later I had the jacket.

The dealer had promised to "speak to the regional rep" the day following my last visit to the showroom. I never got a call. I hope they
enjoyed selling me this Merc, 'cause they'll never sell me another one.

If you want to try the direct approach, Alan's email address is:

alan.pinter@beanstalk.com

He didn't ask me to keep it confidential. Seemed like a nice enough fellow, but I think he got shot down trying to get the jacket deal done w/o the card - I would imagine they need something in writing.

BTW - The UPS guy just dropped the box off at the door, didn't even get a signature. Wonder how many jackets get "lost" in the delivery process?

It's a nice jacket, but needs an outside logo.

Good luck.

Well I read this thread with interest yesterday 'cause I was wondering about how the jacket deal worked. I just NATURALLY assumed that something would come automatically. I bought mine 3 weeks ago today and when I got home yesterday the card was in the mail. So mine was taken care of. I guess someone at the dealer was paying attention.
Even though I got my car on the 'D' plan(I work at a Ford dealer) I never thought that I wouldn't be eligible for this.

So now I just have to choose the size and send the card.

And wait

Spoke directly with Alan Pinter yesterday. The "Jacket" is on its way. Apparently the VIN # of my MM was not in his system, so I'm wondering if the dealer even bothered to submit it. Nevertheless, I'm happy to be getting the jacket but at the same time am upset at the oversight. Seems all these dealers want to do is move cars for the moment and then they forget about you after the sale.
