I joined ten months before I owned one, I was doing a ton of research before purchasing one. I had never seen a Marauder in person before and I was stationed overseas when I purchased mine sight unseen. I was pretty fortunate that the dealership was honest and I really liked the car. :bigcry:

I joined about a couple of weeks before I purchased "RescuRauder". I wasn't really considering a Marauder, since they were out of my price range. I was really looking to buy a P71 Crown Vic, until I saw my soon to be Marauder in a CL ad. I checked the car out, took lots of pictures and then joined. I joined about a week before I bought/had possession of mine. I had already sent my money to the dealership and was waiting for papers to be FedExed back to me when I stumbled across this site. I don't remember exactly what, but I was looking up something Marauder-related when I did.

It took a couple months to get used to all the "personalities", but I will definitely remember going to my first Marauder gtg (the BOC in May 2011) and meeting Rex, Tom, Russ, Slickster, and several other members. It was that day that I knew 100% for certain that buying a Marauder was the best thing I could have done at that point in my life.

This Saturday will be my 3 year anniversary of buying my MM, and it's been the best 3 years/70k miles of owning a car by a long shot.

Found the site over 2 years after I got my 1st one. I was looking online for car clubs & car shows along with Marauder mod parts on Hot Rod Happenings in the local Dallas-Ft Worth area when I ran across it. Didn't think much of it at first because some of these forums do nothing but raise your blood pressure. Went back later and lurked around for a couple months to check it out before joining. Haven't been bad at all as a matter of fact I commend the site for not having controversial topics. If that start to happen I'm gone.

Became a Member prior to receiving my DTR on 02 July 2004. I had belonged to a another car site previouly that was of great assistance in building my "firebreathing" Focus as it was called by others. Still wish I'd kept that car. :(

I actually found out about the site, I think, after I bought the car. It has a MM.NET sticker on the rear window still to this day. I usually join a forum after I purchase a car.

I joined probably 4 weeks after I bought my MM, but I actually found my car because of .net. Someone from KY, posted that they had seen that the nearest Mercury dealer to me, had six MM on the lot. So the next day, I stopped by to take a look, not intending to buy, and the salesman gave me the keys. He couldn't go along, since my wife and three young daughters were with me. Strapped them all in and took off. That was the most fun test drive that I ever had. Pulled over, switched seats, let her drive. Spent my inheritance from my Mom on 6/26/02. Wife is long gone, replaced by a southern belle that just loves my MM, daughters are grown, but my MM is still in my garage, kept company by an 04 MM. Never thought that by buying a car that I was also joining a whole new family of friends! :beer:
