!963 Ford FE 390 ci 6.4 engine

I just bought a 63 Marauder and am in the process of trying to get the engine to start. I can get it to turn over but it isn't getting any fire and I already replaced the coil and bought a brand new battery. The rotator and points all look good, but I'm no mechanic. Any suggestions?

Did you check a plug or coil wire for spark?

yeah checked the plug wire and no fire. Its getting fire down under the cap by the capacitor though, saw sparks when I bumped it with the screw driver

Is the coil old or new?

. check the wire between the coil and the distributor cap.
file and regap the points. *Or buy new (apply a small dab of grease on the distributor cam).
replace the condensor.
how arched are the rotor>distributor cap contacts? *Replace the distributor cap and rotor (be sure to put some dielectric grease on the rotor).
