Is the stock fuel line coming out of the fuel hat 1/4"? If so, will I need a -6 to 1/4" inverted flare fitting to connect my -6 return line to it? If not, which fitting will I need? The entire hard line was used before and I'm removing it.

I thought it was 3/8". This is what I used to connect my -8 to it with. (This link shows a -6)

Here is one installed. If you have the hat out of the car, drill the end of the tube coming out of the hat to get a little more flow. I forget what size bit. Also make sure you have a hose on the end of the tube where the fuel pump would attach going as low into the tank as possible. You want the returned fuel under the fuel level of the tank so it doesn't create bubbles.

If you don't mind me asking what happened? I remember when you bought that car because I wanted to buy it. Its one of the baddest Marauder's out there.

Lost compression in #5 cylinder 5 days after I picked it up. Zack the previous owner was very surprised about the whole thing and came out, over 3 hrs away. I had already done a compression test before he came out. He brought his engine hoist and helped me pull the engine. I took the heads off and realized it had dropped a valve seat. I went ahead and tore the short block apart and found signs of detonation, and the rings in 4 of the cylinders were burnt completely through. He helped me out with some of the cost of building a new engine. I bumped the compression up to 9 to 1, bored the block .020 over, put stage 2 cams in it and new heads. After it was put back together, I took it to get it tuned and the tranny blew at 450hp on the dyno. Zack then paid for half of a new tranny. I put in a Lentech street/strip Terminator with their special auto valve body. Drove it for about 2 months and the blower started making noise and that had to be looked into. I've had it for over 2 years and drove it for only about 3 months, the rest has been spent with it in my garage, torn apart, waiting for funds, so it can be fixed. Zack, the previous owner, has been very helpful, always offering to lend a helping hand and ready to answer any questions I might have. It's been a long and painful journey, but it'll be much stronger than before.

I have everything disconnected and there's 4 wires going to the connector from the fuel hat. There's also 3 wires going from the connector, to the passenger side of the tank and up over the top. Where do I disconnect that from? They're preventing me from pulling the hat out from under the car to put it on a bench.

I've never removed it completely from the car. You can get plenty of wiggle room if you separate the wiring your referring to. You will see the fuel pump wiring runs straight up and is taped to the others that are buried. Un tape it where they merge together, disconnect the passenger tailpipe from its hanger and push it over, the rest is simply maneuvering it out and down mostly to the ground.

After just one pump you'll see it is just a 45 minute job on your back. I know your doing more, but it's that, or drop the tank down and fight like hell trying to get the bolts to start again, or simply snipping the wires.

I think I'm gonna snip the wires. With my shoulder the way it is, there's no way I'll be able to lay under the car and do that. Thank You "justbob."

Sure thing. I would too if modifying a hat. :)

I cut my wires when I did mine.

Then it's decided. I will be putting in weather proof butt connectors though, in case I have to do this again.

First, I'd like to clarify I'm not the Zack being mentioned
Snip the wires and solder in a weatherproof connector, that's what I do.
