I ran these because a few of you wanted them. I'm hoping I didn't pull the trigger too prematurely..still have 7-8 of them here. Figured we had more demand than that.

If you can't afford the TCE Big Brake upgrade then this is the next best thing for brake "feel". After installation and properly bled it will feel like there is a brick under your brake pedal.

All the hose kits produced this run have been sold. The final kit will ship tomorrow to 'greg' and we have zero left in stock.

A couple of folks have called or emailed about previous orders. If you ordered a kit within the past week it has shipped. Check your email: all kit ship include the tracking info from USPS.

I'll be back in the shop next Tuesday. For anyone looking for further info on complete brake kits we can talk then.

The next run of hoses?? I'm not really sure.

No promises but the purchasing 'speed' has certainly dropped from years ago. It took a couple of weeks to move those ten kits whereas before that could have been 20 kits. I'll give ample notice of them coming available again for anyone wanting to pre-order and perhaps do a few more to be certain. I'm sure you'll make it.

East to install.
Just make sure the lines don't rub the tires when the car is on the ground.
I just gravity bled after the install.
Make sure the brake fluid reservoir never goes dry.

That's certainly up to you. Many, many have and not been disappointed. And while it was recently suggested that they are "over priced" I'd challenge anyone to really get the same exacting fit and finish and complete parts- to the door, for less. While they are not cheap, they are not exactly costly considering what you get.

Each kit includes:
*Front and Rear (2ea) jacketed stainless steel hoses with dedicated, bent tube banjo end and chassis fittings. No adapters required for the hardline, no banjo adapters of any sort.
*Dedicated factory replicated chassis brackets for exacting placement and fit specific to each end of the car.
*New banjo bolts, crush washers and chassis bracket clips.

They are fairy priced. Period.

Besides a 4.10 gear, these are our number one recommended on a Marauder.

Couple that with the fact that the cars we love are now ten or more years old and the rubber hoses are tired, and you come to the conclusion that these are a MUST HAVE.

fastblackmerc
06-27-2014, 09:28 AM
These brake lines are the best!

I'd be real leery about installing "parts" that haven't had any R&D done. Brakes are the one thing not to cheap out on.

Any industrial hardware store, even ACE, or most auto parts stores sell crush washers. They are M10 or 3/8. For the most part same fit.

I put my kit in this weekend and all is working well and they look great! Fixed the squishy braking and pull to the right that I was experiencing.

The only thing I have for feedback is that the indexing tab on the front brackets was too large for the stock location and the angle was off a bit. I had to file the tab and bend it out to fit the screw into the frame. No big deal. Took 5 min to fix. Just a heads up.

I also wanted to add my 2 cents about the price for these lines. The stock replacement parts from a FLAPS were about 120 bucks for a full set. I think the price for the SS kit is just fine! Very happy with the results and I recommend the upgrade.

I have pictures before / after if anyone is interested I can post them. If some have not already been posted elsewhere.

I'll compare it again to the stock ones and see about making the tab a bit narrower on future runs. Thanks for the info.

If there are any issues with threads lets verify it first!

The hose ends are metric. The banjos/calipers are not.

The banjo bolts should be a 3/8-24 hex head.

If (obviously by mistake) they were packaged with metric bolts you will see a hash mark in the hex of the head on each corner. The far LEFT here is not metric, the others are.

Sorry...! It's happened before, doesn't make it right. The confusion comes from the other end being metric so the grab for bolts is also.

True, a banjo bolt's a banjo bolt. The crush washers are the key part. No leaks; no problem.

Todd, quick question if I may:
The non-caliper sides of these hoses, what type of flare do they take? Is it inverted flare, or metric bubble flare?
Thanks.

Serge
07-08-2014, 07:26 PM
I received my kit recently. The only thing I can nit pick at are the brackets for rear hoses. They don't have tabs like the front ones that go into the frame to hold them in place so it's a bit difficult to tighten the bolt and hold the bracket so it doesn't spin with the bolt as you are tightening it.

Also as someone mentioned above the tabs for the front brackets are indeed a tad too big but that's easy enough to take care of with a grinder.

Todd TCE
07-08-2014, 07:56 PM
Been seemingly forever but I'm going to say there was no locating tab on the rear part I had here. Or it would be on it now. Interesting. Show me a pic. The front I can narrow on future runs.

Thanks. Can't say to what I had here years ago or not. From what you show I probably did. The issue would be the bend to a single plane of material that is thinner than what is shown there. I'll take a look, maybe get one and see if I can alter it for the next batch..some day!
