The first time that it was done (Mid 60's) the car ran and drove around the deck.

Agree with DEFYANT. Destroying a nice car for a publicity stunt doesn't make me want to buy one.
I do have to wonder how much the insurance for a stunt like that costs.

Guys back in 1964 this was unheard of. What a buzz this made back in the day!
Empire State was one of the top draws for tourist in NYC:)
Always got to stay one step ahead.

I don't think I ever heard of this back in 1964. Of course, in April 1964 I hadn't even started high school. :o
