You know the harness really only lays on the motor one way and the connectors only fit where they need to be right?

I'd get that paint issue resolved quickly.

I didn't when I first started but figured it out when I got my wiring manual Bob, I've just pulled everything up to check the harness out and clean it up. I did find find a bad wear on the harness behind the driver side head and I wrapped a small peice of rubber over that spot, also found a wire spliced in to the #1 injector connector. I traced it back and it ended up connected under the dash to this: http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/22/9ezu3ava.jpg

Looks and sounds like a Ford dealer installed remote start.

There wasn't any mention of a remote start when I bought this car. Did they come with a separate key fob for use or use the Original fob:confused:

Some remote start systems can be integrated into using the factory key fob. Like press lock 3 times or hold lock and unlock for 3 seconds.

The injector was tapped for a tach signal for the remote start. This lets the RS monitor the engines rpms. Once learned the RS will know when to stop cranking the starter.

Was there any brand names on the RS brain? (brain is in the second picture you posted)

Code Alarm made the "Ford" dealer installed system. Some did use the factory remote, but the range was horrible so very few were installed that way. I don't remember the start sequence of those that used the factory remote.

The remote start Code Alarm/Ford system used seperate remotes with a button for the start. I installed a couple of them (one in a MM). The factory FOBs would still work, but only for the locks, not the remote start. Don't know where you can get them now. Should find a few exteranl relays stuck in the left kick panel as well.

Vegas, I found this wire connected to the RS too. The gray wire goes to the "Hood Pin input" ?? When you shake it you can tell there is a small steel bead in it and I am assuming that when it is in the upright position that it would close circuit. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/22/da9a9evu.jpg

Correct. That's a safety switch. Usually when remote started if you open the hood the switch would "ground" and tell the starter to stop the engine.

Who said its a two man job ? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/06/ure8ugaz.jpg. Lined up the bolts on torque converter to hit dead center of the upper bell housing with a straight edge and did the same on block, and greased the line up pins http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/06/9u8u3ury.jpg. Then I let off just enough on the cylinder valve where it would creep off and she found her way home. I think having the strap made it easier with two points instead of four as far as being able to twist side to side . I've got bolts in and tight. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/06/gahyhe7y.jpg

Well Today wasn't as Smooth,!, It took 3 hours to put six motor mount bolts in laying on my back. Putting the motor in yesterday I had the AC compressor pinched between the block, frame rails and trans hard lines. The pass side was the worst as I couldn't get both hands in there with the AC pump in the way and working on my back. It would have been a peice of cake for Prarie Dog .

You should have just removed the two 18MM motor mount nuts under the frame and yanked them out attached to the engine. Swap them over to the new block on the stand. Life would have been much much easier.
