Just thought I'd share the info with you. After waiting a couple months for the price to come down at TireRack.com, I found these guys. Tire Rack wanted $450 for a set of four 245/45/18 tires, and I just scored a set for $388 including free shipping. Here's a link.

That's a great deal...let's hope Logan sees it that way since "Discount Tire" doesn't contribute financially here and we are giving them a plug.:nono:

I'd contact TireRack...I bet they'd match the price...AND the site would get credit.

I would have, but I wrote to them a couple weeks ago inquiring about if and when the prices may come down. In their reply I was basically dared to find a better price. So I did. I was a Tire Rack customer, and now I'm not.

I do however understand that Tire Rack is a contributing member, however Tire Rack didn't seem to want my business. I plugged Discount Tire Direct with the intention of slapping Tire Rack in the face. Someone once told me "If you don't take care of your customers, someone else will." I believe this to be the case.

Sorry Logan.

Please don't think I'm "commin at ya" Stephen...believe me, I'm not. I just know that I got a GREAT deal on something for the car the other day from someone I'd prefer to buy from by providing them a lower price than the competitor. In fact, they went 10% better than the proof. And since you say they practically "dared you to find a better price"...I'd hit 'em with it. I've found TireRack to be nothing short of extraordinary in my dealings with them with EXCELLENT customer service.

Just a thought.

I don't think you gave them a chance. Had you called them and mentioned the price, they'd of immediately matched it or beat it AND you'd of been supporting this site financially in the process.

Again, I can understand about fincially supporting the site and I'm sorry I was unable to do so in this event. My thought was why should I have to call them to match a price? Why can't they offer the best price all the time? If there's another company out there that will sell the same thing for less, their reward is to have my business. Just a few months ago the same tire was being sold for $83/each plus shipping. I gave them a fair chance when I wrote to them the first time. If they really wanted my business, all they had to do was give the best price the first time. But they wanted to make me do all the work myself in getting a better price.

Then even if I did call and get it price matched, everybody else would still be paying the higher price. How fair would that be?

Right now, I'm willing to PayPal you $5 just so nobody can say I don't support MM.net, because I do.

And that would be what, Mr. "I've Got a Secret"?
