Any Artists in the Crowd?

I've been a professional photographer for over 35 years. I've dabbled a little in Decorative Art or Tole Painting. I had the yen to try my hands at real painting and have now taken two classes since January. We use only the primary colors for the most part and learn to mix the blue, red and yellow to create the colors needed. Very cool process of sketching in a notebook with pencil, then charcoal sketching on the canvas, then a color value study with three shades of brown, then painting the larger objects and so on. I loved the classes and look forward to continuing my artistic journey.

Pretty amazing, Mary! That's beautiful! I painted a sheep in a pasture in one afternoon a few years ago (oil on canvas, I figured how hard can it be) and Eric insisted on hanging it over our bed. :eek: It's still there. ~Ms. D
