decided to part ways with the marauder. it was a great car and I'm glad to have been able to drive one for 2 1/2 years. I took the car in to the dealer to do a tranny service and while there i test drove a 2014 Focus ST and fell in love. When the service manager said they 'accidentally' disconnected an AC line instead of the tranny line, I took that as a sign.

I am sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you.
Yea, I would take that as sign too and change service departments.
However, you did get a good car. Congratulations.

Uhh, love the focus...but to replace a Marauder...not my choice, as long as you are happy.....how about an ad for the Marauder for sale? What did they give you on trade? What condition was the car in? Anyone looking to buy?

I am confused how anyone could mistake an A/C line for a transmission cooler hose.
me thinks its time for the tech to go back to Auto Tech skool

I was wondering the same thing. I was going to search local dealerships for the car, but they are probably going to fix it before they post it for sale. Unless someone working there falls in love with it.

Went to school 2 days, "registration & graduation" so I'm trying to count on my fingers how 252 hp in the Focus is more hp than 302 hp in a stock Marauder? Its a nice lil' get a 'bout, one of the guys at the performance shop I go to has a blue one but at my age can't get rid of my Marauder for one.

People's taste and wants/needs in a car changes. I was bored with my MM over a year ago and even considered selling it.
So, congrats to the OP on his purchase. I'd like to have one of those as a DD.

I traded in to 'rauder. The Focus feels quicker than the Marauder but it definitely will be once i get the FRPP tune on it. It keeps the warranty and provides 90 lb-ft tq over stock... it'll be a torque steering monster

Evidently they had a rookie tech on the job and they may have wanted to Hi-Jack the Marauder right out from under you :flamer:/In todays time you made a good decision /Priorities 'mater'

The focus ST has less power but not by much. And much less weight. So yes it's faster.

Congrats on the new ride!. My cousin has 1 of those. He's done lots of bolt-on work and now has over 300hp at the wheels. It's a little rocket ship. Best of luck with it.
This is what happened to my Marauder in March....commence flaming!

Same here.... I had 10 great years with Trilogy #48...but it was time.
I'm in a 2.0 Ecobost Edge now...getting 21-22 around town and 25-26 on the highway and I'm very happy.
While I miss a few spirited runs up to 100 in a car like the Marauder....I'm 45 now and my priorities have changed. I'm going to TRAVEL! 4700 mile round trip coming next month to the west coast. Going to see about 7 National Parks. Just personal preference.
I'll get a toy again..something to have fun with..maybe even another Marauder :)
I looked at a Focus ST....just could not fit in one :( being 6'6" there was no way a long trip was going to work..so I had to cross it off the list.

So you do know as the first purchaser of a new ST. You get a free class at the ST octane academy at Miller motorsports park. With a meet and greet at Ken block's shop in Park city, UT the night before. I am scheduled to attend Sept 22-23.
I am actually thinking of the reverse. trading the Focus ST for a marauder. being it just got damaged for the third time in 9 months. I am starting to think it is cursed. LOL I do call it Pugsley however.

that sucks, when i first saw the Focus I didn't think I would fit in it very well. (6'1" 185lbs) and when I first sat down my hair was touching the headliner. I finally figured out the seat lowered and I have plenty of room now... they are definitely bigger than they look.

Not a fan of the looks of the Focus, but can't argue with the performance; one of the best small performance cars out there right now imo. Nice choice.

I like the Focus. I'm wanting to get rid of my '93 Mustang and my '02 Acura RSX. I need to go check one of those out.

That's a nice car, one of my soldiers at my reserve unit just bought a white one and it is a fun car to drive. I couldn't trade mine in for one but I'd still get one as a DD. I love the rarity of the MM and the head turning til this day looks of it. One thing for sure is that little focus is a sleeper.

I still rather drive the Marauder.

My buddy has a 2010 MKS and we installed a livernois tune and air raid cold air. Car went 13.44 in the 1/4. Can't remember the mph.

With just the Livernois tune, I got my 2011 MKS to run a 12.97 on a cool night. I took the plastic cover off the engine and left the spare tire at home, but dammed if that 6 cylinder Lincoln didn't tweak my out-of-the-box Trilogy's best of a 13.06!
Nevertheless, the MM is much more interesting to drive than the MKS.
I always thought the Focus ST was interesting but it's the fiesty Fiesta ST that won me over! I'm half way into a 2-year lease on one and it's a practical blast. Easy to use every day and always ready to play.
Of the 3, I'm keeping the Marauder... it's part of the permanant collection. The MKS is just a fun work car for a few years. I don't know what will happen to the ST when the lease is up, but it has exceeded my every expectation for it so it might stick around awhile.

We traded our '04 Blk MM this Saturday for a 2012 Black Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon, with only 9500 miles, we miss the MM, dove it daily for 10years, very reliable, but needed some front end work, and the stupid actuator blend motor was gone so the A/C no longer worked .
