Tire size does not look to be a problem . Need to know the year of mustang wheels to see if compatible with 2002 offset. Not all are unless you want to buy hub centric spacers

Crownvic.net could give you an answer in no time flat. I'm not positive about 08 fitting and a 1.25 spacer won't be enough.

I know only the owner accepts new members and he has health issues at times and he doesn't wish to delegate that function to a moderator. Mabe member gDMJoe will chime in. He is a panther car expert . I mean they should fit since up to 2005 will fit and they are on an 04 . I do know the spacer will need to be bigger

If you are installing 03 and later positive offset wheels on a 02 model (which uses standard offset wheels) you are going to need spacers.

Caught that they were 2004 (didn't notice the ON and OFF a 2008).

2002 MGM > 2004 Mustang would have meant plug-and-play (without adapters), HOWEVER (you're right) for 2008 (2005+) Mustang rims 1½" hub centric adapters would be appropriate.

If you've purchased the above I've got BAD NEWS ... They're NOT hub centric.

You need these ... (EZaccessory listing (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wheel-Adapters-Mustang-Explorer-Hub-Centric-Spacers-1-5-/360781023751?pt=Motors_Car_Tru ck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5400398a07) ««« -click-)

IF they're Mustang rims the cut-off year is 2005. MEANING: 2004 and before do NOT require adapters. *Unless of course you're adapting 4x4½ > 5x4½.

FYI:
There is some misinformation in this thread that needs to be cleared up.

These wheels are from the California Special edition Mustangs, and are the only '05+ Mustang wheels that are not direct bolt-on for '03+ Panthers. They will not clear the brakes in the front, and require a small spacer.

^I personally witnessed the fitment issues on this car.

a_d_a_m ... There is some misinformation in this thread that needs to be cleared up.
Nothing in this thread needs to be cleared-up ... destination vehicle is a pre-2003 Panther (2002 Grand Marquis in particular ... no 2003+ Panther will be harmed in the making of this thread).
.
rims are (will be) from a 2011 Mustang (not "the California Special edition")
.
1½" hub centric adapters have been chosen (are thicker than ¼")

the California Special edition Mustangs, and are the only '05+ Mustang wheels that are not direct bolt-on for '03+ Panthers. They will not clear the brakes in the front, and require a small spacer.
They're not the ONLY 2005+ Mustang rims that when mounted to a 2003+ Panther need (say) a ¼" spacer to clear the front calipers. This also a requirement for any of the 18"x8½" Bullitt style rims.

yes i did buy them and got all 20 lug nuts and ordered the 1.5 hubcentric spacers. was told on another site that 2.0 spacers would look better on the rear but im all good with 1.5's.

this is what it will look like when done
