My P.I. 3500 stall speed converter lock up clutch went bad, chatters brutally in lock up under even the slightest acceleration. No it's not the fluid or filter.

If I send it back to P.I. I may have them do a 3200 or 3300 as I would like it a hair tighter. The engine feels like it has a lot of TQ and HP being wasted.
I hate to have it tie up a lift having to send it back to P.I. and waiting for it to comeback.

Any good used (not stock)converters for sale?

I have my stock converter still. Heavy. 100 shipped from Canada? I don't have a clue what the shipping will cost and chances are it's at least $50.

I believe the trans has a lock up solenoid that could be bad.

+1 I just installed a new TCC switch and also a Sonnax bypass plunger kit for my F150's 4R75 that did the exact same symptoms. Mine has absolutely no shutter now.

Totally easy fix. I also suggest getting an OD accumulator retaining clip as they are very well known for breaking into pieces.
