I've never really been a 2 wheel guy, I guess that's why the title of this post is kinda deceiving... I like the idea of a WW!! style bike with a sidecar. One of the most unique and cool things out there that I can find to fit that style is the Ural. I've read a lot of bad things about them as far as needing maintenance and repairs pretty much straight off the dealer lot. Plus, they cost a ridiculous amount of money for something that is made with 60 year old technology from Russia (like new HD price). But for some reason the uniqueness and novelty of it keeps bringing me back.....

Any thoughts? Its not something I would be getting right away, but I could see it being my next major purchase if I make up my mind that the pros out way the cons.

Sidecar would be bad ass but I think everytime I would go out for a ride, I would try and recreate the scene from Indiana Jones and Last Crusade

Well if I spent a little more money I could get the Gear Up, with engage-able 2WD (side car wheel becomes powered) and I could drive off road super easy like in Indian Jones.

Just don't take a right hand turn real fast lol. Looks cool man the only problem will be parts if it breaks.

"Flying the cart" as it's called sounds fun, as long as I dont get too crazy:D. There are three dealers in Illinois, and at least one in Michigan. From what I understand parts aren't that hard to obtain. I'm just unsure of the cost of parts and how often I will be buying them.... I don't mind tinkering with things but I dont want to buy something that is supposed to be brand new and have to do major repairs.

Yeah I have never heard of the company but have never worked on or bought parts for a boxer 4 stroke motor! I am sure the parts for the motor at least are not cheap. I have been riding 4 strokes for a long time and have had great luck with them. Although none were boxer motors but Subaru's run good lol.

So the Ural really isn't as bad as some of the things I have read then?

I "was" into the kind you stood up and walked on the back wheel for a few miles. That side of me decided to knock it off.. But that is definitely not what your going for... :)
