I'm looking for a camera that takes high resolution pics with a good zoom as well. I've seen several at Walmart and target, but not sure what to get. I mainly need this for my daughter's soccer games. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For example. Would this be a descent camera?

Just get a Galaxy S4 or S5 cell phone. The camera is great on it, 1080p video as good as my GoPro Hero3.

Bestbuy usually has the best deals on digital cameras, the last two I have bought were about 20 bucks cheaper than i could find online

while I admit my camera on my S4 is pretty good, the price tag on both the S4 and S5 is way out of the OP's budget of 200 bucks ;)

Considering if you need a new phone, They are down to $100 for a new 2 year contract at least for verizon for me, and the camera is fantastic. The only downside is the zoom the OP is requesting..

These smart phone cameras are now so good I wouldn't spend money on a point and shoot camera, might as well go big with an entry level DSLR with upgradeable lens for zoom and other cool stuffs.

usually you only have to pay the 100 up front and the rest of the price of the phone gets added to your bill monthly

I thought i got a good deal only paying 100 bucks a couple of years ago on my S2 from Tmobile but it turned out they enrolled me in a payment plan for the rest of the price of the phone (about 400 bucks at the time)

I do have a S4 but not the capabilites of zooming as stated above. The camera will be used by me and my family so giving my wife my phone is not an option.

What the

Sounds like quite the rip off. They do give the option of a monthly payment plan, but should also be a one time using your upgrade cost at least through VZW for me. Actually trading in my iPhone4 32GB I think I will walk with new S5 without paying a dime.

See the thing is I never traded in my last phone with the upgrade, always kept it, but take a look at your phone bill and see if your paying a monthly premium for your upgrade service

Pretty much the "point and shoot" camera's are all about the same.

So pick a brand you like and go for it.

Amazon will beat Bestbuy on about anything I have found!!

I bought a refurbished Canon directly from Canon for $52.00.....about the size of a deck of cards and does an amazing job!!

I use a Canon Powershot SX50 HS for my daily stuff.....50x Optical Zoom is hard to top!!;)

I picked up 3 Fuji cameras for Christmas gifts for the kids at pawn shops for $80 each. 18x + zooms. 12-15mp.

We video our work a lot so I need a camera that takes great videos too. The Fuji's are tough. Used to use Canons but they would break if the tripod tipped over. I have a newer one with a 30x zoom that I paid about $120 for at a pawn shop.
