At the very end of this month, I will have my kids for a whole week. I'm planning on taking a trip to Mammoth Caves and will be there on the 1st and 2nd. I spent some time looking at their website last night and have determined which of the tours we will do while there.
Just wondering if anyone knows of hotels that are nearby where I can get a good price on a room. I looked at lodging available on site, but no pricing info so that makes me think it will be expensive. Also need to have a pool for the kids, preferably indoor so weather isn't a factor.
TIA.....
The caves an hour south are way better.
Ask Seneca, he was just at Mammoth with his family

I use kayak.com when I travel and need a room. It scans all the deals from all the sites. Most hotels webite price is higher than what you can get elsewhere. I travel to Toronto once or twice a year and have never had a mis-reservation or upcharges etc. when using online booking services..some charge a fee, a surcharge and you pay in advance,at time of booking. I have gotten some good deals before like $50-$80 a night in Toronto..where the average is easily $125-$150 and I'm not talking Super 8 or red roof inns either...

Any of the hotels in and around Cave City, KY will likely be priced for the tourist trade and peak season. You may wish to consider staying in Elizabethtown, KY or Bowling Green, KY. Both have a large variety of hotels. E-Town is about 50 miles north. B-Green is about 25 miles west. Neither of those drives is too bad if you don't want to pay tourist prices closer to the caves.

Prices are shown; but they are generally THE LOWEST GENERAL RATE and usually vary by room and specific dates.

During the second annual KY meet, we all stayed at the Hampton Inn in Horse Cave. It is right off I-65.

Thanks for the responses everyone, but I've decided to take them to the beach instead; I haven't been to the beach since I moved to Asheville, and I know the kids will definitely enjoy it as well.
