IDK if anyone can know, or even have a good estimate, but from what I understand, the average life expectancy of a car is 12 years, so we're getting real close. So, how many Marauders are left on the road? Just how rare of a car do we have now?

Interesting graph, it's a shame the registry never happened. It'd be interesting to see true numbers. I can confirm at least one dead, it's heart beats under my hood now:depress:

As are most statistical representations. At best they are "what if" scenarios, but sometimes a graph like the one Charlie put together can be used as a rough reference point.

I'm sure that graph is a good guesstimate, but would love to know exactly what's left.

I think everyone would like to have a definitive answer to the "How many MMs are left ?? " question. However, I don't think that there is any possible way of getting this information. Vehicle registrations may be one means to start putting together a true picture; but there is no single national vehicle registration database. You would likely have to query each individual state for information. Even then, there are lots of unregistered cars sitting in garages or on used car lots, junk yards, or on blocks somewhere that wouldn't be counted. Neither would those from Canada, other countries, or US territories. Maybe there is a master insurance database somewhere that represents all insured vehicles. Of course, there will be many that are not insured or are located elsewhere in the world.

Without a definitive answer from somewhere or some source (that nobody has chimed in with yet); we will be left to rely on sheer speculation, educated guesses, rough estimates, or even Bull$4!+ :bs: numbers to have any idea of "How many are Left ??" I have made a good faith estimate ... believe it or not as you wish.

I think it safe to say that Charlie's graph represents a best-case scenario. I would bet there are significantly less cars in drivable condition left.

A typical range of 10% is considered "good" on estimates. So, the numbers could be 5% higher or maybe 5% lower. Maybe ????? ;)

And I would advocate that cars damaged, salvaged, and up on blocks, shouldn't count until resurrected.

More than that. There's at least 4 in my area that aren't members that are rolling in Marauders...

Bluerauder's graph looks about right to me.

Marauders have a high perceived value on the street here - something catastrophic has to happen for one to be taken out of service, otherwise they get patched up and rolled over. There are very few nice ones left, but there are quite a few still limping around that would have been junked if they were Vics or Grand Marqs.
