Major bummer, not lookin good for my MM die cast program, ERTL has shelved the project. I don't have a lot of other options because.....well I'm out of the business, un employed as it were! :depress: after 12 long years my wife and I were rewarded with a layoff, recall not likley. :bigcry:

I'm not shocked, the bigger salary's tend to go first and my wife was just a victim of "well if we let him go,we gotta let her go" Going to apply at the McDonalds across the street in the Am, "Would you like fries with that sir"

I will live in my MM before I give it up!! :fire:

Sorry to hear your bad luck. Prez says unemployment is down, yeh right. Who is he fooling?

At least the Prez didn't sit around on his ass and not do anything to deal with the issue. Things just don't happen that quickly, and it takes time before employers start looking for labor again. It's more of a matter of labor redistributing itself within the labor market. Some markets see a decline, other's see a boost. Almost any economist out there will tell you the state of the economy was on a downturn starting with the last 2 years of the Clinton administration, and it's a cyclical process that goes up and down. At least the worst appears to be over as it's on it's way up back on the pendulum.

My sympathies to you and your wife. I hope that you guys find something soon. It's tough, but I hope that something comes your way.

It is good to be competitive with jobs that we loss to child labor I guess. Also his administration said teachers are terrorist. I heard some of speach tonight and all I heard was "Blah-blah-blah". This man could not talk his way out of a paper bag. He said the voters will make the choice this September as to if he is doing a good job. The voters made that choice in the last election that he lost. Maybe his brother will help him out again this time too.

Agreed. While we might not be able to agree with politics, what we can agree on is about our love for the Marauder! After all, that's what brings us all together, and this is the passion that many of us share.

I'm not sure where you where working at befor but try Target befor MickeyD. I worked there for 9 years and it was a good job. Remember for every action there is a reaction. You'll bounce back soon enough.

Bill,

Have you explored a "die cast" option through Exoticar (a major mail order die cast house) or Action models? Just a thought. Wish you the best on your employment situation.

Bill,

You are taking this better than I think I might.

What was it you and the wife were employed at?
You never know someone might be looking for just the right person.

Bill,

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Believe me, I can relate to your situation.
Keep your head up...I'm a firm believer (as in my situation) that not only do things happen for a reason, but ultimately for the better.

"This to shall pass" - whether things are going well, or going bad...they will change.

Thanks to all for the kind words,

I was the VP for a company called Pro Motorsports Inc.we sold licensed racing merchandise. I was in charge of wholesale distribution and new product development.

We were on of the largest Action Performance distributors in the country. I helped found this company 12 years ago and grew it to a 16 Million a year business.

The Die Cast collectables business is pretty tough right now and just the way things are, I don't blame Bush for this but then again he is not doing a lot to help. We will bounce back, we always do! I am looking at starting up my own distribution business, after all I did once for someone else and I can do it again(this time for me)

Thanks again to you all

Damn Skippy!!

Let us know how things progress, and I may even be able to afford to be a customer. If my wife agrees.

Sorry about the employment status Bill...place I work has been sold 4 times in the last 4 years...still on thin ice...OBTW as far as politics...everybody running for prez is for NAFTA...so you really do not have a real choice, IMNSHO...hang in there and Monster it...

Sorry to hear about the lay offs, and , good luck in your new endeavor. Like Ross, I too am going to avoid the politics. My wife lost here job at Kemper dwntwn Chicago last spring when they went belly up, who'da thunk a 75 year old Fortune 500 Insurance co. would go in the crapper. Anyway she put her resume on Monster and gave it to a few placement agencies and bam 1 month later(b4 her severance was up) she had a new job making more$$$ with better bennies and less to do.
Point being sometimes there are happy endings to these situations. Good Luck Again to both of you.

As for politics, I think they all need to be limited to two terms...One in office, and one in Jail! ;)
