What oil filter do you use? Motorcraft, Wix, or NAPA?

What oil filter do you use? Motorcraft, Wix, or NAPA?For anyone who was not aware, NAPA Gold filters are made by WIX and are identical to WIX-branded filters except for the paint on the can.

Same thing for CarQuest Blue.

I always use Motorcraft FL820S. I bought alot on the older FL820S's after Motorcraft changed to a short filter.

Main things to get:

The filter needs the silicone anti drain back valve
Get a name brand. IMHO... I'd never ever use a Purolator for Fram filter.

WIX and NAPA Gold are good filters

Motorcraft – FL820S
K&N - HP-2010
NAPA Silver – SFL 31372
NAPA Pro Select - SFL 21372
NAPA Pro Select Master Pack (12 filters) – SFL 21372MP
NAPA/NASCAR – NFI91372
NAPA Gold – FIL 1372
NAPA Gold Master Pack (12 filters) – FIL 1372MP
WIX - 51372XP
WIX - 51372

I've never used NAPA oil, how does it compare to Pennzoil Platinum or Mobil 1 ?

Do you like the Wix filters?

I like them when they're on sale ; I've never had a problem with WIX / NAPA Gold.

As long as the oil meets the specs specified by the car manufacturer, I'd use the oil.

Can't argue with that :)

WIX filters are very highly regarded on BITOG.

I stick with Motorcraft for Ford products as they have the bypass valve located at the threaded-end as spec'd by Ford, where most other brands have it at the dome end. They are also inexpensive and easily available.

The filter needs the anti drain back valveI think you forgot the word "silicone" in there, Jim.

Thanks. Thought everyone knew that! Edited post.

BTW.... you can get the FL820S at Wally World for less than $4.00 all day long.

I've also noticed that the local Advance Auto stores have the MC FL820S for $3.69...and I don't think that's a sale price.

Now if they could just lower their oil prices a bit, I'd have no reason at all to go to Wally's any more....
