What happens to the domain registrations and DNS entries if a registrar closes down? Abruptly or otherwise.

Google search shows a bunch of hits.

Usually someone rushes in and tales it over and tries to profit off the situation.

Yes, a Google search on 'domain registrar out of business' gets a few results. The most recent I saw was 2011. And a big failure in 2007. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/RegisterFly

I guess I am safe with GoDaddy. :)
