No, my plan is....install it and then scan it and see if the same code comes uo. Basically I am going to use it as a diagnostic tool.
When I scan mine it comes up with left pretensioner. I bought a new pretensioner and cleared the code but it comes right back. Then I checked the wiring which is all good.
Hoping I have a bum module.

I may have to go to ford to have it programmed but I hope not.

Ok, had a code for L/S pretensioner. Bought new pretensioner from Ford. Cleared code but it came right back on. Checked wired and connectors-Good.

Had a hunch...I disconnected R/S Pretensioner as a test to see if a new code would pop up in addition to existing code...it didn't.
This made me think I had a bad airbag control module. Got calibration # off mine and ordered a used one from LKQ for $80.00...FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
