autometer gauge face swap

I bought the gauges to swap in the real oil pressure gauge but i decided i like the factory "light through" better than the light around. Can the face be swapped and still be accurate? Is it hard to do? I also only bought the voltmeter to match but im assuming if i swap the face of the oil pressure gauge there is no benefit to swapping voltmeter and doin a faceplate swap as well.

Note: did anyone else notice in the factory brochure the gauges look like the "real" autometers and not the factory ones?

Yes the face can be swapped. It is time consuming and the needle is delicate. There was a write up on it somewhere. Look in the How to forum or Archives.
