Cool video. Reminds me of the video the guy who climbs the top of those cell phone towers to repair/replace components

I saw one of a team of two guys who had to climb to the tip-top of the CNN Tower in Toronto to replace the navigation light on the top. They have to free climb up the last 200 feet or so. That is a straight drop of 1,815 feet. NFW !!!

Although I wouldn't do it (for anything), the top of the statue is only 125 feet above the mountain including the pedestal. So the worker would only fall 125 feet --- good enough to kill anyone. However, the perspective of it looking down includes the 2,300 foot mountain that it is sitting on.

Somewhere here is a witty remark about being on the shoulders of gods.

Dropping a tool could kill someone. When working up high we tie off our tools.

What about him dropping the hammer or chisel... 1800 feet onto the head of one of the visitors below???

If it's not a good time to talk on the phone, why do people answer it to tell them that?

Riggers go up with empty pockets and all tools are tied off. I've seen enough shackle pins hit the deck, lighters, cell phones, dugouts...
