RPM Tach issues

:mad2:Okay so this is something that has been bugging me for a while and I was wondering if this is something that can be fixed or if I need a whole new cluster...

My RPM Tach on my cluster will work if I tap the lense but within a few minutes either goes all the way up and stops or all the way down and stops. Occasionally it will work at idle but as soon as gas is given I get the same result.:confused:

Any advice would be great.
