Speedometer - Dead

Have a 2003 with 25,000 miles which has been kept under cover. Went to drive it the other day and speedometer did not work, dead over at 0 mph.

Any suggestions?

check your fuses???:confused:

First tap the dashboard near the instrument cluster.

If that doesn't work, Id look to the OSS Sensor in the transmission.

also is it the whole cluster or just the speedometer??

Accelerate to a cruise and see if the cruise works. If you have a bad speed sensor it won't work either. If you have speed-dependent volume on the radio that would quit too. The VSS wire is gray/black at the cruise control and on the radio harness.

Checked the fuses. They are fine.
Checked cruise control. It worked; maintained speed, accelerated and resumed speed.
Radio works.
Tapped, repeatedly the dash.
Speedometer still pegged at zero.
