I'd like to have some of the DTR owners weigh in on their favorite Marauder bumper inserts color for their car - I'm not sure Stainless is right for me, but value the opinions of the forum members. What color did you / would you choose to complement your Dark Toreador Red?

I think the SS Inserts are neat & clean, complementing the wheels, as well as the window surrounds. However, in second place, I would go for Silver to match my Light Flint interior.

If I had to pick a color I might go with a dark gray or graphite color similiar to the interior to keep with the overall dark look. I personally dont like the highlighted lettering, kinda takes away from the 'blacked out' look.

That was my dilema as well. Ask the guys in the Carolina Marauders. I couldn't have been more cautious.

I wanted the total stealth but looked at the SS Inserts and had a conflict.

So I bought them knowing if I didn't like some eyeball-to-bumper test fitting I could easily turn them around.

So I used some doubled over scotch tape on the "M" and stuck it in. Hmmm... then the "A" and the "R"... Hmmm.... that did it. I took them off, cleaned the bumper and put them on.

I love them.

I prefer RED WHITE and BLUE because I am an American!

Are you?

The shiny stainless steel highlights not only your wheels, but your TAILPIPES !!!
If the person behind you doesn't notice those BIG pipes now, they will once you've got the lettering in !

I feel it is a public service to have the SS inserts on the back. That way folks can tell "WTF IS IT" when you rumble past. I see it all the time. Heads turning trying to figure out what that big [insert favorite car color here] cat is.

My $.02's. I had the white lettering on my Black MM. They lasted slightly over a year. I was waxing the car a few weeks ago, and the edges were peeling away from age. I took them out and installed the SS Inserts. No one ever noticed the white lettering or made mention of the car during road trips and talking on the CB. I made a road trip to Fl. after installing the new letters and had numerous comments from truck drivers about the letters and then talked about the car. Go with the SS letters!

The SS inserts look great on all the colors.

I was skeptical they were going to be just OK on Silver...but I was wrong....they look great.

For now I prefer the stealth mode. The few car people in my area know what the car is. Most just look confused

I'd probably do the Stainless, though I would prefer Brushed SS. Don't have them on the Blue one or on the DTR yet.

Seabreeze,

My dealer offers an aftermarket service to have the insert painted. (The guy does a nice job, takes him a couple of hours to mask off, etc.) I had my insert painted silver, not as bright as SS, but still sets off the bumper nicely. I'll p.m. you with a picture from my home computer this evening.

The first time I saw SS inserts was on DTR at dealer where I bought blk 04 I thought like many posted here, they are Incredible. To me they look like they belong on the car no matter what color. But the DTR has a very unique look with the inserts:up:

I was thinking white and powder coat the wheels white too. However, it would be a drastic change and there would be no going back.
