Anyone know where to buy an already made dash cover with foam padding under the vinyl or is that something you have to have made by an upholstery shop? And if so any ideas on the cost?
The car is a 1963 Marauder 390 6.4 2 door fastback
A quick search resulted in this http://justdashes.blogspot.com/2013/08/1963-mercury-monterey-dash-pad.html

Thanks kirk, I have been searching myself on ebay and Dearborn and few other places but didn't find much and what I did find on ebay was used and all cracked and they wanted like 500 bucks for it.
Thanks again man.
Someone with a '64 told me just a few weeks ago that someone does make dashpads for your car, but I've never been able to find them.
You can get a '63 Galaxie dashpad, and it will fit your car, but it does not have the same look. The Galaxie pad has a rounded rear edge (facing the passengers) where the Mercury pad has a sharper more pointed edge.

I saw one on ebay but it is used and has some cracks in it. The starting bid price is 150 dollars. What do these things cost to have made? And do you know if there is a way to repair the cracks and use a used one or better to buy new?

Got a quote for that dash pad. They want $1000 plus shipping plus an extra 150 to 200 if I want it another color other than black.
Just recently got a quote to redo my steering wheel as well. Just the part you grip, not the chrome. $650.
On a brighter note I removed the old cracked guage and speedometer lenses and replaced them myself. After three tries they came out pretty good If I do say so myself. Got the whole cluster put back together and back in the car and all the gauges work now.
Pretty stoked about that, it was a hell of a lot more work than I thought it would be.
