Great Basin Highway April 17th. 1230 Hours PT 35 Mph wind gusts.
Speedo says 140+ AutoTap said 146. Yes it still had some, no doubt in my mind this is a 160 MPH car. If I get a nice calm day I may try it.

Just curious, what was the reading on the Tachometer ?
And what rear gears are you running, ie: 3.55, 4.10, ect...?
edit: Just notice that you have 245/40-18 tires, are those also an the rears ? Your Speedometer could be reading incorrectly, not by much thou.

Have same tires all the way around, 3.55 rear end. Speedo has been corrected for tire size. Had second vehicle behind me but he pooped out at 122. 4,700 on the Tach.

You ever think about investing in a new driveshaft?
Oh hey, you should gather up a ricer or two and show off your stuff!

Hah, the ricer was behind me... Yeah he used to talk... I inspectd the shaft before the run, had a few other 130~37 runs prior and some sustssined (80 miles US 93) 120 runs prior. I saw no evidence of vibration nor felt any one this run. I had a 99 CV PI when I was a gop they changed out the Aluminum for the Metal Matrix on a recall becuase of reported failures at 130. However none of the 98, 99 or 00 CV's in my then agency suffered from any drivline issues. I am comfortable with mine.

If I get the Marquis for college I'm getting another driveshaft, I can feel the vibrations on mine around 95 give or take depending on the weather.

you had better be careful if go above 120 with a stock drive shaft. :nono: Dennis had told me that a stock MM drive shaft is rated for 123 mph, and not to do that again unless i have a MMX drive shaft. with my 4:10 gears Dennis figured my drive shaft was 80mph over the limit. i have already broke my tail shaft from exessive speed 130+. i got to that speed and thump  something went ,at the time i did not know what it was. and at 70+ mph i would hear a low hum from the drive line. :( went to the dealer and they had ordered me a new tail shaft because of a leak that suddenly occured from that thump. low and behold the tail shaft was broken in 3 pieces. the ears had snapped off where the bolts go in to the case. luckly my dealer fixed the tranny  and they know about the mods i have too. SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL

If you don't get a new driveshaft, at least get a driveshaft loop, that way, if the thing breaks and falls, it won't jack your car in the air.
Happened to my neighbor in his bronco, only it was his exhaust system...he was going 35 and he was put off the road. (Which he found amusing...the kid hasn't died in him yet!)
