That is fixable. I'm in the Orlando area. Let me know if they let you buy it back. I'd be interested in resurrecting it.

There are tons of real nice cars listed in the F/S threads.

I would start documenting(printing out) for sale cars with like miles/condition to use as a reference. If they total it, don;t accept the first offer, use the
information found to negotiate for more. If they total it, you wont be able to go pilfer parts off it, they total the "whole" car as it is its. The salvage value will vary based on degree of damage and possibility of reselling parts that are good. Salavge price could be anywhere from $1000 to $3500 is my guess. If they total it and you do not "buy" it back it will go to like a Copart site for auction. You don;t actualy buy it but they reducce that amount from your settlement and you keep car and the reduced check. Do not let thme take it to a copart yard if you or anhother member work out a deal to buy it back. they handle them rough to say the least

This is a correct and accurate statement. Be prepared to document the rarity and value of your Marauder. Reject the first offer.

People are trying to sell low miles marauder with the screws rusted on top of the manifold bolts and driver seat rip and wrinkle and under seat bracket all rusted. Like if the car has been on a flood. Look at my PVC valve ordinal with 96k. Look like day one. State Farm wants 3500 hundred for the car. I'm afraid to accept and get stuck with the car. See if MMblue wants it and get the money up front from him then you do not lose out. Everyone of my CV's and my first Marauder suffered from front seat bolt rust..it's kind common, wet carpet from rain etc from shoes or snow. It's not a sign of flood. Yours do look new, but you live in FL, away from salt air..I know it is hot and humid, but it must be a northern thing

Make sure you ask for their written assessment. Most likely you'll find errors because you know the car better than they do.

What the adjuster is doing is seeing if one of their "good customer" auto wreckers is interested in it and what they are willing to pay to skip the auction. Under 100K miles the engine and trans are all the wrecker is interested in, all the other parts are generic CV/MGM stuff and not worth much. Assuming on a good day the wrecker can get $1900-2000 for the engine and trans they aren't going to want to pay anything over $1500. Especially with the wheels gone (another $900-1000 tops for those) so they may come back with a lower more realistic number. They are going on the assumption you really want it back. 25% of the payout is the usual starting buy it back offer. They should come down. I have seen Florida is doing some weird stuff on their salvage auctions. Cars with minor damage are being labeled with "certificate of destruction." which means parts only, never to be re-registered in the US. I was under the impression that insurance companies are not happy with having to pay 2 times on a totaled out car that has been rebuilt and are trying to stop it. Plus, a lot of VIN fraud on salvage vehilces seems to have come from Florida so they may be tightening up. Make sure they are ginving you a "Salvage" title and not a "certificate of destruction" title.
